Agree, I'm thinking Petty for 3 QTRs then Johnson for a 4th QTR mop up, chances are Flynn gets the axe because he's hammied. I'm not even sure why they signed him in the first place.
if coming to nyc for the first time, don't mess around and go for the best. patsy's in east/spanish harlem(and ONLY this Patsy's, not the other pretenders). or if you're willing to take the hike out to coney island in brooklyn, go to arguably the king of ny pizza at totonno's. p.s. and don't get any crazy shit on it if you want to really experience true ny pizza...i.e. no bbq, no buffalo chicken, hawaiian, bacon...you get the picture.
Pizza in New York City is best as a regular slice its when the rest of the world tried to keep up they had to add all these different types of variations to make pizza taste somewhat edible like he said get the plain cheese slice
I live in Texas, the thought of great pizza doesn't remain on my mind for very long. If they were talking about brisket or burgers, I'd probably full-on hijack this thread.
There's certainly a logic to putting Smith on IR if they want to avoid trying to put Petty on the PS. That would be fine with me.
I have been sort of predicting that since he got hurt. Exactly what happened to Sanchez and the only possible reason I can see why they are currently carrying 5 QBs. Even 4 is too many but 5 is ridiculous so whatever their plan is we will find out soon. If they do go the IR route with him you can bet he will be cut when the season is over too.
I would clarify that to say that if he's put on IR the likelihood of him being cut goes up, but it would not be a foregone conclusion.
so..bowles was asked in todays presser if he has seen enough from petty to name him the backup yet and his answer was no...does that mean he is willing to consider naming one of tho remaining qbs that have never taken a single snap in a jets uniform the backup over petty? This guy is starting to get me nervous.
I think he's sticking to the plan that Petty, regardless of how he looks, is not in the immediate plans and he'll be holding a clipboard until further notice. But he'll be starting week 1 in 2016 _
And I for one can't wait to see what the final move with him is on Sunday. I still don't think they will carry 4 QBs and as many have said there is no way they can sneak Petty through to the practice squad so what are they going to do? oops..it's Friday by 4PM they must be to 53..not a lot of time after the Thursday night games.
They'll hold 4 QB's until Geno is back, then Flynn is gone. What are you guys debating about. Come on, nothing better to BS? This is it. Geez[/QUOTE]
Sigh. Well, we may know better if Flynn or Johnson plays well rather than merely competent. As for Smith I get that he's still on a rookie contract and as has been pointed out to me can't go on short term IR. That seems to leave keeping 4 Qb's given the Petty situation, long term IR?, or cutting Smith. They probably end up seeing keeping 4 Qb's is the conservative approach here, but since I am prepared to give up on Smith, I would cut him despite his being on a rookie contract. I know this is a view not shared by many, and i readily concede it is partly emotional. But not all emotional. There's a cost to keeping him on the active roster.
It's entirely possble Flynn shows himself ready to be the better backup than Smith, and if Fitzpatrick plays well, the team will be better served making a real run with a solid vet backup than Mr. Total Team Distraction. Only SMith Fans think there is literally nothing to talk about here.
And that's just another reason they must be pissed as hell at him as they may end up losing a good playet because he went and got his jaw broken..assuming they carry 4 that is.
