Dude, I don't care if you're trolling on purpose or you really are an illiterate idiot getting picked on. Everything you post is annoying.
The AFC East Crown should not be a goal for the team right now. It would be awesome, and definitely possible, but one step at a time. The Jets were (4-12) last year. Added Revis, Marshall, Cromartie, Fitzpatrick, Gilchrist, Skrine, Williams, Smith, Mauldin, etc. Replaced a bad coach and GM with what appears to be a good coach and GM. So we should see improvements all around. (8-8) or better would be a great season. It is within reach. A playoff spot is also entirely possible.
That cool. I see we have something in common. I could careless if you drop dead right now. Plus if you don't care why even reply to anything I say?
That's cool. I see we have something in common. I could care less if you dropped dead right now. Plus, if you don't care, why even reply to anything I say?
I haven't felt this "safe" at QB since Chad in 2006. The same bug is out there though which is can Fitzgerald stay healthy for a full season? Also, it really is a "safe" feeling. Favre was a much better QB and Sanchez had real potential before the injuries and declining talent took him down.
The jets will be much improved from the last 4 years by virtue of a better head coach. Rex is a terrible in-game coach, always needlessly burning timeouts and failing to make adjustments at halftime. If Rex had his way, he'd still be the jets coach and he'd still be starting Sanchez at QB.
If we can get LB to the QB it would help. I could not help but believe that a lot of Pace's were flukish. I know Mauldin is raw but he looked to have the kind of athleticism a pass rusher needs. He might eventually prove to be an effective passing downs guy as a rook
We need Fitz to get us into the bye at least 2-2 and playing well or the decision to start Geno will have to be made and once we do we'll be running him to the end of the season. Luckily the schedule doesn't point to a string of probable losses in a row so as long as we stay in touch then 8 to 10 wins and a playoff sneak look possible. With the next draft class not quite up to '83 and Petty developing........I'd take competency and a prolonged interest over a high draft pick for '16.
You can say that the AFC east title shouldn't be a goal for the FANS, but it'd be alarming if the players went into the season not trying to win the division. It's definitely their "goal".
The Pats certainly aren't as awesome in the secondary as last year If the Brady suspension still kicks in then they have Big Ben not throwing at Revis or Browner, A Bills defense that can get at young Jimmy and Romo throwing to Dez before he gets back to face Luck/Colts, our D and Suh trying to smash him up before he gets a couple of easy games. Could easily come down to the inter-Divisional match-ups.
How the hell can you possibly say a better head coach when this guy hasn't coached a game in his life? I swear people on this site have become completely ignorant. If he gets us to the title game in each of his first three years then you can say a better coach, until then he is just another bum with something to prove.
First off, keep this in mind: this is a New York Jets forum. Now, about your comment above (in bold): . . horseshit. FYI: I just bumped a thread in the BS Section titled: "First time traveler to NYC - tips & suggestions welcome!" which was originally posted by TGGer 'darow84'. On page 2 of that thread (while everyone was offering darrow84 "tips & suggestions") you butted into the thread from out of the blue with this: Ring a bellboy?
this team has 9 Win (playoff) talent, so i don't think u crazy at all.. a losing season would be a disaster imo, and .500 would be fairly disappointing short of major injuries.
The season will likely depend on two factors, one being injury(ies), but that's always true. The second factor is whether Fitzpatrick can establish himself early. If he plays well and the team is at least at 2-2, then I don't see the Jets replacing him with Smith. If Fitz can accomplish that early, then they stick with him, he develops more, the wideouts coalesce, and of course what to me is NOT up in the air is that Ivory will be carrying a huge part of the load for the O. But Ivory and the wideouts cannot make up for it if Smith returns. If Smith returns, the season is over. I could say a third factor is whether the D can show they will be well suited for the kind of 3-4 Bowles wants to play, which relies much more than Ryan was able to do on the ability of the cb's to play man. Since I expect they will, especially because of the nice things being said about Skrines who after all is a huge upgrade over the awful Kyle Wilson, I think this is enough more likely than not that I more or less expect it will happen. So it's really up to Fitz to get it done in the first quarter. If he can do that, 9-7 would seem like a good projection, and a possible playoff berth. One last note - division record is always a huge factor. The Jets must do at least even here to have any chance. With the usual focus on the Pats and now with Ryan in Buffalo on the Bills, remember that Miami is still out there and will be a challenge. The Jets must at least split witht them, and that will be key. The Jets cannot lose two to Miami and then be likely to take two from eitehr of NE or Buff. One of the most annoying things about Ryan's tenure is the record against Miami. All that focus on NE, Ryan seemed to be unprepared to play a team that knows the Jets just as well as NE does, and Buff for that matter. Bowles has to bring back that rivalry focus on the fish. Don't let Miami undermine an otherwise positive season.
Let's say 1. Browns W (1-0) 2. @ Colts L (1-1) 3. Eagles W (2-1) 4. @ Dolphins W (3-1) 5. Redskins W (4-1) 6. @ Patriots L (4-2) 7. @ Raiders W (5-2) 8. Jaguars W (6-2) 9. Bills L (6-3) 10. @ Texans L (6-4) 11. Dolphins W (7-4) 12. @ Giants W (8-4) 13. Titans W (9-4) 14. @ Cowboys L (9-5) 15. Patriots L (9-6) 16. @ Bills (9-7) Using this and forgetting about major injuries, etc.: 3. Eagles: yet to beat them - however this "W" vs. Philly's long overdue. 6. Raiders: could be a let down after playing NE. Remember the 38-0 win (the Sancho hotdog game) then they couldn't set the edge vs. Darren McFadden next time out there and lost. 9. Bills at home: they got manhandled both times last year, both home and away. Until proven wrong, that's an 'L' for now... 12. Giants will be the home team - this "win" is anything but a gimme. Three of the "wins" could see the Jets have an off day and end up 7-9. There's just waaay too much uncertainty (LBs, S, TE) imho at this stage. And what happens when Cheapo's gets back? Jets and Bills: who squares away their QB situation first...
He sounded great, but it's only the preseason. You can't read too far into it. The audience is pure vanilla at this point!
It is amazing that Pace had the career year when the Jets CB's were supposedly so bad. He's not a fast pass rusher. He gets coverage sacks these days.
@ joe The Jets have the kind of defense that gives Andrew Luck fits. I'm not saying they're favored @Indy but I'm more worried about the Browns in the opener than the Colts in week 2.
