    Gotta start hitting with RISP.

Did we really acquire Rzcepsnki and Reed?

That's not bad. End of O'flatery and Torres if so.

You know the season is going well when you are disappointed in back to back losses but not concerned.

I know they were looking to get some more arms for the pen, not sure why the O's placed Darren O'Day on waivers. It was something called revocable waivers (I'm not really sure what that is) but the Mets should have taken a look. That guy is an absolute stud out of the bullpen.

It means a player can be available to teams but if he is claims the team he plays for can pull him back. Not sure what makes a player eligible for it but I know Kimbrel was claimed the other day only to be pulled back too.

O'Day would've been an amazing pickup. I like Neal Cotts too who the Mets could've claimed but he went to the Twins.

Heard Reed is a done deal but nothin on the other guy though.

Still nice to see Sandy trying to fix our problems.

That is one of the negatives of the extra WC. Teams that would normally not be in it wouldn't be making moves like this. Of course the Twins are very much in the thick of things but there is a lot less available and a lot more competition for what is.

Joe West continues to make it all about himself.

The best umps are the ones who walk away from confrontations. And let things slide. Not West.

Nice come from behind W. Really was a must cause it looks like the Nats will win as well. Big opp for us the next 3 days with home games against Philly and them going to St Louis.

This one really could've gone either way but the 1st place team should come out on top of these kinda games against the last places teams more times than not. Boston was tougher in this series than I thought they would be. Nice young players on that team. If they are able to sign a Cueto or Price type ace in the offseason they will be right back in the mix in the AL East.

One team has been no hit twice in the last three weeks and comes up small in the playoffs, the other is the most successful post season team in 15 years. Yeah, the Dodgers are the team to dear despite the fact that we have pitchers that can go head to head with their pitchers while facing an offense that shouldn't intimidate anyone. Winning the Greinke and Kershaw starts just requires getting 2-3 runs.

You're out of your mind. Our two aces could easily be negated by their two aces ... And we have to match up with them three times in five games. Nobody has a clear advantage in those games. If we face the Giants, we have the pitching edge for the next three games after they throw Bumgarner. Why you wouldn't want that is a mystery to me. Yeah ... Let's just put up 3 runs in every game vs Grienke and Kershaw ... Should be no problem since we always bomb them.

I'll be rooting hard for the Giants to sweep them this week.

Another question for the Dodgers vs Giants debate..what percentage of those fanbases will take over Citi Field in a potential matchup?

I think the Giants hold the advantage but Dodgers fans always rear their ugly heads too.

I was there for the last Dodger series and there were a LOT of them in the stands.

One team has a manager that was considered great before winning three WS titles, the other has Don Mattingly.

One team has a shitty bullpen and a weak offense, the other a team that has come up big time and time again in the post season.

One team's strength, pitching, can get negated by our strength, pitching, which will also overwhelm their offensive weakness.

The other team has a history of coming up big against good pitching in the playoffs.

Yeah, let's root to play the team that has proven to be able to win in the postseason rather than a team that can't hit and has a shitty bullpen. Not like our strength, pitching, won't give us an opportunity to win those games.

If you think the Dodgers have a weak offense and can't hit, you better look again. And talking about our pitching negating their pitching completely ignores the other side of the equation. They cancel out each other. Personally I'd rather have a clear pitching edge in three games of a five game series ... which we would have if we play the Giants.
Your history lesson will mean absolutely nothing when our guys are in the batters box trying to get hits off the two of the best 5 pitchers in baseball. I'll face Bumgarner twice, over Grienke / Kershaw three times. Neither will be easy, but the Giants are definitely the easier matchup in a 5 game series. If you can't see why it will be much tougher beating guys who will have 5 CY Young Awards between them by the end of the season, so be it.

I'll take my chances with the Giants.

Oh hell yeah. 7.5 would be an awesome lead. The biggest thing is when we play the Nationals we don't get swept. If we lose 2/3 it isn't really the end of the world as long as we are up 6+ when the series starts.
