Sanchez was NOT the starting QB. if it weren't for the guaranteed money in his contract, he would not have even been on the roster.
I'm looking for the starting defense to finally show their potential. i want them attacking and swarming the ball. On offense, protect the ball, and sustain some drives. the Giants D is terrible so this shouldn't be too difficult. on specials, i'm hoping Arenas looks explosive on punt returns. for second string, hoping Petty continues to show strides, and that Qvale can rebound from poor Atl showing. We need QB and RT options for the future.
1st teamers should play a half or more in this game. This Giant defense is quite suspect. Weak DB backfield, no JPP pass rush, weak LB corps with Beason out. If the Jets offense has trouble scoring on this squad.....well, you can fill in the blank. On defense, better pass coverage from the DB's would be nice. Key to winning this game (not that it matters who wins) is the Jets 2nd team D's ability to stop Nassib. This guy has become a pretty good QB. Might be better than anyone the Jets have right now.
I don't mind seeing injuries, as long as they're all wearing Giants uniforms. Would like to see: Trevor Reilly take advantage of Pace/Mouldin injuries and play well with the first unit. Couples do something impressive as a pass rushing OLB on the other side. Revis shut Beckman down. Cro play terrible and get benched for Williams. I assume this will happen sooner or later, so get it over with in pre-season. Our new WRs light it up.
Eliminate the 5 receiver set, jets don't have the oline to sustain the type of blocking needed for that formation.
What? 5-wide sets are designed for quick, short patterns in an attempt to create mis-matches. Usually a 3-step drop with the ball out of the QB's hand in 2 seconds or less. If an Olineman can't pass block in a 5-wide set, he has no business playing in the NFL.
He was not named the starter and he wasn't going to be. Everyone in the organization from GM on down wanted to go in another direction at QB (even if that direction involved rook who wasn't ready) I don't like smith at all, but short of injury they were giving him the reigns in 2013. It was obvious. Sanchez was done here, and only on the team due to absurd guarantees in his contract It's revisionist history to suggest he was going to be put back out there for yet another season

I would like to see one big pass play from the 1s on offense. would love to see petty dominate the 2s and 3s. Going to watch powell, he is my dark horse for team offensive mvp.
I want to see the 1st team D show signs of the D we need them to be in the regular season. I'd like to see something resembling a downfield pass. No injuries
I would just like to see it. Damn Bills are on tv for the 3rd straight week, but not the Jets. And the fucking NFL network doesn't show the replays until midnight or 1:30 pm in the afternoon on a Tuesday.
