As Joe suggested it appears a new thread is warranted for the new series. I took the liberty of moving the few posts over here.
I agree. I wasn't into it but kind of started to enjoy it down the stretch. I'll give it a shot again next week.
Its a little frustrating watching and knowing what the characters don't. i am going to be patient but it didn't start out all that great
I usually don't tap out of a show until the third episode, unless the pilot makes me want to throw my TV out the window. This one didn't. These characters aren't all that enthralling, though.
Just watched it. I liked it. I don't find it slow at all, it's a nice build. A good effort for a prequel. _
Agreed. The beginning-middle was boring, but it picked up at the end. Definitely will give it a chance. I'm also with abyzmal. I didn't resonate with the characters at all. Hopefully that changes.
I just watched it. I'm not a big walking dead fan, though I do watch it most weeks. 1 episode in I'm totally hooked on this show. I can't wait for next week. I get what you guys mean with the slow start, but I love how the show starts pre zombie outbreak. I wish Walking Dead had done that. SPOILER.. Edit: Why did Cal turn into a zombie? He was shot, not bitten. That made zero sense.
It does not matter how you die. You die, unless it is from a head wound, you become a walker. Everyone carries the virus now so when you die you turn. Because a head wound is the only way to kill a walker, if you die from a head wound then you will not turn, just die. Now if you get bit, that does eventually turn you as the infection from the bite kicks the virus into gear. That is why they were able to save Virgil by cutting off his leg before it spread to the rest of his body. I think this is the whole explanation but I am sure if I am off on some points I will be corrected.
Nope that's it. Everyone is infected. You die (other than from a head shot), you turn. You get bit, you eventually turn. _
I can't even remember what season it was, but they made it to the CDC and there was still a head scientist holed up there that told Rick (and nobody else) about it before the place blew up via typical self destruct mechanism. Then after Rick had killed Shane and they left the farm, at the end of that season before they found the prison, he dropped that bomb on the group.
Ok so it's directly related to Walking Dead. I thought it was a whole separate show, just by the same people. Like I said earlier, I've only half assed watched Walking Dead, so that would be why I was confused. Thanks!
YW. Yeah, same universe, from what we're to understand. Just zero source material, where TWD has been drawing from a comic series for years. Who knows, they could go faggotry and decide to deviate for "artistic reasons" and turn it into a completely stand alone show, but right now I think we're to assume it's the same world the other one lives in.
I think this is the very start of the national outbreak. TWD started several months after Rick got shot and was in a coma in the hospital. _
I am going to guess it takes them a couple of seasons before they get to the same time frame as when Rick wakes up. Should give a good glimpse into the breakdown of society.
That's what I'm hoping. I'm also hoping drugfag son turns into a walker soon, but something is telling me they plan on turning him into some kind of hero type.
