Com'on...Namath was strictly a drop-back passer - rarely. rarely did he ever move laterally. To compare the 2 positions is like comparing a soccer player to baseball catcher.
Horrible news if its serious. maulding was the one guy who had some potential to get to the passer/in the backfield on the edge and was a tempo setter... also i feel like he was going to become a leader on this team in short order. devestating, and means more snaps for pace, who shouldnt be out there 40-50+ snaps a game
Wrong - don't confuse the issue - as A JET - he hardly ever ran laterally except when being chased down to avoid a sack. He had zero mobility - anyone comparing him to a OLB, that is very funny.
I agree but you left out AS A JET, he was probably the best scrambling QB to ever come out of college or would have been if he didn't get hurt in the 4th game of his senior year..he may still have been if they got it fixed but no he limped through the remaining games so as to go for a national title.
