Howling at the moon with a bottle and some hopelessness right now. Donny Hathaway and Townes Van Zandt and I have a lot in common....... Don't try this at home folks.
Dude, The blues ain;t nothin but a good man feelin bad. But...should best be taken only in good times. Otherwise
Going to see Santana tonite at the PNC Arts center. Beautiful night for it, Can't wait. Last time I saw him live was as a senior in college-- 1981 in the Carrier Dome _
Great show, as old as that dude is (68), he still plays like a 30 year old. Had to be one of the coolest guys in the room back in the day. Really terrific band he has assembled--lots of sound coming off of the stage, three separate drum kits in addition to a bongo player with about 9 bongos, other percussionists, a horn section, great bass player and another dude matching him string for sting on the lead guitar. Beautiful nite, great seats. And they sell wine and beer there now! _
I'm taking some flack in another thread for not being familiar with Frank Zappa's music (I've met nobody in my 40 years of life who's into him, except on this board), so I thought I'd share my musical tastes here: Favorite bands: Led Zeppelin (no surprise here, this is practically the consensus best rock band ever) Aerosmith Van Halen Kiss (not a personal fave, but everyone I knew growing up loved this band) Boston Styx ("greatest rock band from Chicago") Allman Bros. Band Creedence Clearwater Revival ("Creedence") Eagles Steve Miller Band Metallica Jimi Hendrix Lynerd Skynard .....just to name a few. Or, just listen to the greatest rock station in the tri-state area. http://wpdh.com/
The unofficial anthem of my childhood, growing up in beautiful Dutchess County! Still love this song! "Take it easy....lighten up while you still can....don't let the sound of your own wheels make you crazy". Good advice.
Totally calling hornet on this. It's not humanly possible to simultaneously like Styx and Jimi Hendrix. It just cannot be done.
