1 game a season is more than enough to be the difference between playoffs and not playoffs.

The effect of going for and making 2 points 60% of the time is an increased overall scoring potential and it's also a major way to throw your opponents off their game. If you don't have that capability you're not going to be able to gauge the score as well at any given point. The team that can make 60% is going to know more about the actual game state than the team that is at par at 49.5%.

I'm really surprised the NFL made the change. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see them reverse the decision after seeing the 15 yard 1 pt conversion in play for a season.

meh. One game CAN be more than enough but can also be not even close to enough. You said it was "most likely" you'd make the playoffs at 60% conversion rate and you really haven't convinced me that's the case.

The games where you miss out on several 2pt conversions could easily turn into L's too. It will be interesting to see if anyone tries doing this. I agree the Eagles are a likely candidate.

Also the extra point won't be as easy as before.

That's why teams will try for the 2 points if they think they can get above 50%. They'll still go for 1 when that's the number of points they need but 2 is going to be a huge lure if they think they can profit from consistently going for it.

I hope so. I wish teams would go for 2 a lot more. I didn't think moving the extra point back that little amount would make people more willing to go for 2. I still don't but I will say more teams are doing it. Hopefully its not just a preseason team and they do in fact go for 2 more in the reg. season

The thing I don't like about the new rule is that it's going to make it more frustrating to be a fan of the average team. It'll be more exciting for the teams that jump on the rule successfully but there are going to be games next year where wins just vanish in the late game when the difference between a 2 pt offense and a 1 pt offense become apparent.

    Eagles not letting Sancho go.

Playing like a Hot Tamale and like there is no tamale for him.

I am happy for Philly they look beastly. My wife grew up there.

    Wow...just wow.

Watching the Philly game waiting for El Nacho Loco snaps.

    Is it me?

Or does Sam Bradford make China Doll Chad, look like Stone Cold Steve Austin?
Sam Bradford has more pussy about him than VIVID entertainment...

    Ok. Watching this replay.
Sanchez missed 1 pass rolling left, and Mayock is dogging him for the entire time.
he only put up 10 points, in 2 drives.

    Really?

Mayock was really over the top in his critique.

Like he stole his lunch money.

In the first pre season game Mayock was on him hard which was understandable then. Not so much in game 2. I get the feeling he has it out for Sanchez and just doesn't want him to start. Every thing Sanchez did was like a negative to him. Even when connections were made lol.

Bradford does 1 drive and Mayock is all happy and figures it was enough, he's good to go.

Right, he threw a dart to Agholor that he had to extend his arms up and Mayock commented "another high pass from Sanchez".

I think Mayock chooses players he wants to dog during the broadcast so he has something to say other than what round a player was drafted in and how quickly they ran the cone drill. That boy is one dumb motherfucker.

like i said before i didnt watch much of it but sancho has a tendency to be wild with his throws not just when he is completely off target. he tends to be off target on alot of throws that get caught.

I know you hate the guy which is fine but he actually looked pretty good the other night. He put just about every ball where it needed to be. With zip.

i hate him but i try to be as fair as possible. i only saw the 1 drive and he only threw one pass. it was behind the guy but it was probably supposed to be to stop him so he could go back toward the middle instead of our into coverage.

im not always fair, but i try to be. i didnt like sancho from usc and it got turned up even more with all the fanboy bullshit that went on around here for 4 years.

    Pissed me off.
Sanchez always misses high when he's wild...F.U. Mayock.

It's almost like he's vested in selling El Nacho loco short.

    Maybe he's Idzik's closeted lover...
