Garappolo sacked 7 times, threw an INT and sucked against GB backups. should be an interesting 1st four weeks!

thats what they should've done. not only would there be a precedent like in the case you are mentioning with Payton and the players union would not have gotten involved. also, belicheck hired the ball boys so there is reason to hold him accountable.

I would've like to seen that fuckhead belichick get a timeout but it will be pretty cool watching the patriots play with garrapolo for 4 weeks

Don't forget who Goodell works for. There are limits to what a commissioner can truly do to a team, and I think he pushed those pretty far here. Anybody remember Fay Vincent?

Even the most grievous of criminal offenses are not held to such a standard in the US. The standard is "beyond a reasonable doubt" which is defined by what a reasonable person would find to be true. That allows, for instance, a murder conviction absent a corpus delecti. How would one prove a murder on your side of the pond if there was no body but extensive other evidence was present? It appears, based on your description, the prosecution would not prevail if the murderer was able to dispose of the body successfully.

Civil cases are decided based on "a preponderance of the evidence," meaning the evidence is weighed and the balance of the evidence decides the outcome. Either the criminal or civil standards may be upheld based completely on circumstantial evidence. This is a civil case and appropriate evidence has been presented well beyond what even the criminal standard requires.

No, they didn't throw a "hissy fit" because the balls were rubbed, varnished and worn--that's 100% legal.

Deflating them AFTER the officials have weighed them is is 100% cheating--it's an illegal act used to gain an unfair competitive advantage.

The NFL CBA does not require incontrovertible proof of guilt. The NFL does not need video evidence or a written confession- the mountain of circumstantial evidence was more than enough.

Not one starter on the Oline or any first team WR or TE played in that game.

The INT was ripped out of Boyce's hands.

    He finished with 20/30 completions.

Didn't LeGarret Blount "use" the footballs a lot too? How do you know he didn't tell the ball boys to deflate them so he could hold onto them better? Did Wells even investigate Blount?

I haven't digested the rulebook so I've no idea if a team can cover 'em in stickum, paint them orange for snow games or add rainbows and unicorns for funsies. It may be that you can deflate or inflate them within the limits, stick em in a sauna or freezer or do all kinds of mischief with them?

Perhaps instead the NFL should actually take possesion of the balls and maybe ensure that each team in each game is using the same kind of untreated, unaltered, unbuggered ball that everyone else is using so that everyone is operating on the same level of parity as the next person!

    I hope so!

I don't know what that evidence is at the moments as that which we know of relating to Brady is a couple of comments that can be taken one way or the next.

and that his phone was destroyed which probably proves he was hiding something but for all I know he's been sexting someone other then Giselle or it contained videos of him engaging in some manlove (both of which could be argued as likely) and sure as hell didn't want the world to know that.

If goodell produces a signed memo or taped call of TB asking for the balls to be deflated then................best commish ever! If it's just a set of probabilities and he said/she said then I truly despair of a governing body that overlooks 'certain' reallife situations and goes all in on a mistake of their own creation.

Blount can't even count to 12. Let alone know what psi is or know what the league rules are. ill give him the benefit of the doubt in this instance. He is truly too dumb to think about deflating footballs

This is a pretty ignorant comment, lol. I hope you don't truly believe this, or at least I'd ask why you specifically believe Blount is an autistic child.

Honestly it'd be great if there was a lower league to relegate them to as in the case of Juventes when they got caught cheating but sadly there is no system of relegation in the US and even if there was much like Juventes the Cheats would be back in a year anyway.

Interesting except you'd have to of course ignore all the text messages that were exchanged right after the Jets game that name "Tom" and of course consider that Blount didn't get signed by the Patriots until November 20th. Other than those facts.... sure why not.

I don't think Blount is as stupid as you think, he was smart enough to walk off the field and get on the bus as a member of the Steelers knowing that he'd be signed by Bellichump

I'm sorry to have to provide this obvious answer but no evidence led Wells to Blount like it did Brady. Contrary to popular belief in patriot fan fantasy world, the league isn't just picking on Brady for no reason.

He brought this on himself. All of it. Own it.
