I am just glad we don't have Indy's defense. The eagles did look good though. The colts secondary was just plain awful.
hope you don't equate 'discipline' to penalties. The Patriots* and the Seahawks led the league in penalties last season, and they met in the Super Bowl. The Jets conversely were below the league average in penalties, and they won 4 games. in terms of these guys scrapping on the practice field, you just have to let them do it here and there. i'd be more concerned if they weren't showing any fire.
I think discipline and penalties are related, but I don't think that getting penalties necessarily mean that it will cause your team to lose. It depends upon what type of penalties, when they occur, and how mentally tough and resilient one's team is, how confident they are, how much talent a team has, and how good their CS is with play calling and handling the game. The Jets beat themselves with stupid false start, offsides, and delay of game penalties. They had neither the talent nor the resilience, mental toughness nor confidence, nor quality CS to overcome those penalties. Both the Pats and Seahawks have the confidence, mental toughness, resilience and quality coaching to overcome penalties. I'd bet that many of their penalties were from over aggressiveness, holding to save TDs, to protect their QBs, that kind of thing.
Have you heard of Shin otake? All you need is 20 minutes to stay in shape. Do you lift weights or something Jetaho? ha
Speaking of the Rex comparison... Rich Cimini @RichCimini 6h6 hours ago I'm stunned that players from Bills (Rex Ryan) and Browns (Mike Pettine) are scuffling in a joint practice. #BuildaBully
