Reports from the Iggles camp are speculating that Bradford is the guy, bc they traded Foles and a 2, and they're paying him 13 mil. To wit...they're trying to read Chip Kelly's mind. At this point no one knows what Bradford will look like, in live action during pre season. (and personally...I always thought he sucked as a pro.) In fact the only appreciable difference between Bradford 2013, and Sanchez 2014, is Sanchez took too many sacks for too much yardage and in 2013 SB threw only 4 picks. If Sanchez gets when to throw the ball away and cuts down his int% by .5%, he should be the better player with a year under his belt in Kelly's system...and Sanchez has more balls and big game presence than Bradford. That's non-negotiable. Sanchez's problem has always been not playing the regular games like the big ones. If Sanchez plays like it's the playoffs he's a far superior player... Bradford will be dealt to regain some of what was spent on him, (the news will carry stories of how he is not fully healed from the ACL)
ill quote myself on this one since you must not have understood it. best of luck to you hobbies. tell junc I said hi.
PHILADELPHIA -- For the second day in a row, Eagles backup quarterback Mark Sanchez was on the practice field for team drills more than starting quarterback Sam Bradford. A big deal? Probably not, but with the team's first preseason game this Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts, and the status of Bradford still up in the air, it is certainly interesting. Here is a look at how each quarterback did during Thursday's practice: Sam Bradford: Thursday's Reps: 22 reps Thursday's Stats: 7/14, 0 TD, 0 INT Overall Stats: 268 reps (16 with second team), 145/195, 14 TD, 2 INT Analysis: After a blistering few practices, in which he showed the kind of elite potential the Eagles are hoping he reaches, Bradford has come back down to earth. The Eagles' new quarterback struggled with his accuracy on Thursday, completing just one of his last six pass attempts. Bradford was lucky that one of those passes wasn't intercepted, as cornerback Byron Maxwell made a nice jump on a Bradford pass and nearly picked it off. Bradford was especially bad during the team's final 11-on-11 drill, with all four of his pass attempts falling incomplete. That is the first time during camp that any quarterback during any team drill hasn't completed any of their passes when attempting four or more. Grade: D Mark Sanchez: Thursday's Reps: 24 reps (four with first team) Thursday's Stats: 15/19, 1 TD, 0 INT Overall Stats: 231 reps (38 with first team), 132/184, 11 TD, 1 INT Analysis: Barring an injury, Bradford will be the team's starter against Atlanta in Week 1. The more training camp progresses, however, the better the team has to feel about their backup situation. Sanchez was very sharp on Tuesday, completing his final four passes of the day in the series right after Bradford struggled. Sanchez's first pass during the 11-on-11 drill likely would have been a touchdown, as he hit running back Darren Sproles from 40-plus yards out. Sanchez also shined in the team's redzone drill, hitting backup tight end Eric Tomlinson in the back of the end zone for a touchdown, his lone pass attempt -- and the only one he needed -- during the drill. Grade: A Tim Tebow: Thursday's Reps: 14 reps Thursday's Stats: 6/9, 0 TD, 0 INT Overall Stats: 137 reps, 66/99, 4 TD, 1 INT, 2 rushing TD Analysis: Tebow held onto the ball far too long on Thursday, having to tuck the ball and run twice in a row during an 11-on-11 drill midway through practice. On one hand that is not a good sign for his chances of making the team, as it isn't often that a quarterback doesn't attempt a pass during team drills. A knock on Tebow has been that he isn't great at processing what is in front of him, and that could be starting to show. On the other hand, Tebow has only one interception during training camp, while Matt Barkley has three in two more pass attempts. Tebow has been careful with the ball, not taking many chances -- if any -- with the ball. A silver lining for the quarterback in his attempt to make the roster. Grade: C Matt Barkley Thursday's Reps: 21 reps Thursday's Stats: 13/16 ,0 TD, 0 INT Overall Stats: 125 reps, 74/97, 6 TD, 3 INT, 1 rushing touchdown Analysis: Barkley had a strong practice on Thursday, but wasn't able to get his team in for the touchdown during his drill in the red zone, despite attempting four passes. With the team now close to two weeks into training camp, it is becoming more clear that Barkley is a better pure passer than Tebow is. It shows in his consistency, as he is able to string passes together on the money, something Tebow has struggled with. Mark Sanchez WILL START Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts. It can be see live on NFLN at 1:00 for those who are interested. Sam Bradford is being held out as a Coach's decision. He is fine.
"Mark Sanchez will never start another game preseason or regular season in the NFL." "Mark Sanchez will never wear an NFL jersey again." "No coach would be enough of an idiot to give Mark Sanchez a shot in the NFL." "Mark Sanchez will be playing next in the CFL." "Mark Sanchez will be flipping burgers at McDonalds next year." All actual quotes from TGG circa 2013-2014. _
And then there was the rest of us, a minority at the time, that did not deserve a ticket to the Geno-fer Lopez act...produced by John Idzik.
Let's not count any chickens before the golden goose is cooked. Or something like that; it's still pre-season after all but Sancho would probably be at the top of the depth chart on New York's AFC team.
I'm not really counting anything. Folks here 2 years ago asserted he'd never play in the NFL again. I think he's surpassed that. Whether he's any good is subject to interpretation but he's obviously an NFL QB. _
are you taking up for junc? I don't think I ever said that. but I will still say he sucks donkey balls.
