Rex completely disregards team chemistry, yet his only locker room issue in 6 years was a pouting Holmes? none of this chemistry shit was happening under Rex's watch, which is the point. there wasn't even so much as finger pointing or blaming last year amidst a horrific season. compare that to what went down in Chicago. it's almost rare nowadays. but go ahead and blame a guy literally no longer present for these current problems. it's really comical.... please tell me more about how these 2015 events are Rex's fault.
So there is a newspaper in Buffalo and they did cover this, failrly sanely unlike the NY papers would have done. http://www.buffalonews.com/sports
The only way this tale ends is the Jets need to beat the Bills week 17 to earn a playoff spot. Fitzpatrick gets injured at the start of the 4th. Geno comes in, has a chance to win it, but is intercepted by IK, who returns it for six....hundred dollars.
our media covered rex pretty sanely at first too...keep in mind buffalo is still in the honeymoon phase with rex...give it time.
I think the fact that Rex put IK out there last night with basically no practice with his team speaks volumes that this was a primarily a football move and not some stunt or classless act by a buffoon or simply an FU to the Jets. And that IK - with basically no practice with his team- made some tackles, one behind the line and a QB pressure indicates that we might have given up on a talented player who might have been a diamond in the rough. And he sounds pretty contrite and incredibly thankful for getting a second chance. Not defending what IK did but geezuz fuck how the hell does this happen. _
Anyone see IK get pancaked? Absolutely lit up. Made my day. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-...10423/IK-Enemkpali-pancaked-by-Brenton-Bersin
I don't know if anyone posted this (probably) but according to reports Rex was considering trading for Geno Smith. Like almost everything with RR you don't know what to believe. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...ryan-once-mused-about-trading-for-geno-smith/ But as far as signing IK. And the Bills being the only team (reportedly) to make a claim for him. You would have to think part of this was his FU to us. And trying to embarrass the Jets org. Earlier this month he came out with his ridiculous "I should have told Woody" excuses for his 4-12 last season.
Todd is in a tough spot, I think he wanted to send a message. First the Sheldon issue, now this. I think he's now putting his foot down and letting everybody know he doesn't tolerate this. He's the headcoach, what he says goes. If you're not with it you're out. Plus, I don't think IK and Geno would have gotten along again, at least for a long while. It would have been weird in that locker room, maybe people would side with IK, create a rift. And while this whole "we all knew Rex was gonna do this to piss off the Jets" is all good and everything, I think he just saw a player that would help his team. Of course he likes the extra attention, but let's be real here, this is a guy who played for Rex. This is a guy Rex drafted. Of course he wants him back. And I can totally see him having a real nice career in Buffalo, he fits that defense like a glove. That situational edge rusher, like Jerry Hughes. If you have Mario Williams, Dareus, Kyle Williams, Jerry Hughes next to you, I think he's gonna put up good numbers there and be really effective. So that's why Rex picked him up. We didn't cut him because he's not a good player. He's a good pass rusher. He dominated our O-Line in pass rush drills this camp. And Rex will keep doing this, add players he coached/drafted here with us that he feels will help the Bills. Not to piss off the Jets but because it helps the Bills. Guys like Winters maybe, Aboushi certainly, Miles, Enunwa, Walls. I'm kinda trying to think if we would have been better off without Geno instead. Fitz as the unquestioned #1, Petty with a solid preseason as the #2, and IK on defense complementing Mauldin. I'd almost rather have that instead of this toxic environment with Geno here and how people spoke up against him, it's pretty clear the guys don't like him. If he'd post 90+ QB ratings this year here I'd put up with him, but if he's the same guy we've seen the last few years I'd rather move on from him to get our team chemistry up again. He really needs to take a look in the mirror and change, grow, whatever. Even his twitter message after getting his jaw broken was pathetic. That "I'LL BE BACK!!" crap with this dumb image of him looking real tough. Grow the fuck up. Can you imagine Luck or Peyton, A-Rod, ANY other QB pull this crap? What a spoiled brat.
A football move? C'mon...it was strictly for the headlines. It's odd how everyone fills in the blanks to fit their agenda. Fact is that you can't have 2nd string players sucker punching your starting qb...no matter how much you hate him... contrite or not.
I disagree. Ik didn't even make the team last year. Rex hadn't seen him in practice this year. I think it may have been partly to see how he'd do, how he has progressed (if any) and to start getting an idea if he's gonna be worth keeping, but I think it was mostly a big FU to the Jets. If it was strictly a football move, he'd have let the kid practice for a week before throwing him out there.
I saw that too. I posted it last night in the Geno punched thread, but it got no attention. I suppose here makes more logical sense.
Plus Rex's "You hit one of ours, we hit two of yours" has moved to Buffalo. Nothing but pussies here folks.
it was totally a football move. you are trying to fit your own agenda by suggesting it was 'headlines' driven... will it still be for headlines when he makes the team?
Rex is a retard. He's going to ruin the Bills roster faster than he did the Jets. Obligatory, Rex is not the GM.
I've always thought that Gary Myers was a clueless tool, but think his column about Rex being wrong for signing Ik is spot on.
Percy Harvin is a time bomb That was Buffalos most curious move imo. They should have gone oline with the money
