If anyone notices a "moved" thread in the Jets Forum entitled Geno Also Threw a Punch", it was tongue and cheek. The punch line was "He missed by three yards." The arrow shows it has been moved but a search finds it nowhere. Seems like there is some very thin skin here. Is this really something that needs to be pulled off the boards here? It's not like I committed a mortal sin. Or did I? Am I missing something?
It was an unfunny joke and really didnt deserve a thread IMO also- its not "censorship." that term gets thrown around WAY, WAY too much. If the mods decide to burn the shitty joke in a fiery hell with other unfunny jokes you still have the right to tell your unfunny joke elsewhere in this country- thus its not censorship
Look, it may not be the greatest line ever written but, as you said, that is anyone's opinion. And it perfectly fits the definition: cen·sor·ship ˈsensərˌSHip/ noun noun: censorship the practice of officially examining books, movies, etc., and suppressing unacceptable parts. "details of the visit were subject to military censorship" There is no need to define censorship by only a government official as you seem to want to do. The officials here are the moderators.
When did you put the thread up?There were atleast 15 versions of that posted in the original punch thread. Maybe the mods moved it there.
this is a damn message board. there is no such thing as censorship in a message board. when people use that in places where its not relevant I get so pissed off because it disrespects real censorship If you are at a bar and you scribble some graffiti on the wall and the bar owner tells you to get the fuck out and paints over what you wrote is it censorship? fuck no- he just wants clean walls in his establishment, not stupid BS on it. That's the story of your unfunny joke thread.
It went up about 3 AM. I had scanned through most pages of the original but didn't see any of them, that's why I had put it up alone, to separate it from the serious comments. Seems odd that it wasn't even moved to the "Inappropriate Humor" section, but it looks like Nagle thinks it's too radical for that.
Censorship and vandalism are not related. Real censorship is when anyone having the power to suppress the thoughts and ideas of others uses that power to do so. Sorry if I was offensive to your boy Geno. Not really.
this aint about me caring about Geno Smith. you are the one playing the victim here buddy. I'm just telling you you are doing a piss poor job of crying and playing the victim. feel free to start your own message board and publish as much unfunny jokes as you want. there, you aren't being censored! problem solved!
that is odd. Not a great loss though. That joke has not been killing it so to speak. I am guessing the mod who moved it will p.m. you with a reason
I moved it to the dumpster because as someone alluded to it was posted in the original thread abut 23 times and it wasn't funny any of of those 23 times. It certainly wasn't worthy of it's own thread especially considering it was nearly 2 days after the punch was thrown. Before you accuse me of censoring you and being a lover of Geno, I'm not censoring you. I don't take any issue with you or any of your posts but that thread was bad. It was a waste of space. I've never seen any of your posts that would warrant me "censoring you" previous to that so I'm not out to get you. I'm also no lover of Geno, I didn't want to see him get injured or lose his job like this but he wasn't exactly a beacon of confidence either.
I'm not sure whats more pathetic. Starting a new thread to post that tired lame joke, or starting a new thread to complain about it being expediently deep sixed.
Why so butthurt? You're acting like it was your ox getting gored. There's enough weird shit here that a harmless (except to guys like you) joke getting censored is just plain odd. And I'm sure even you can do better than the old "if you don't like it, just go start your own..."
Okay, it wasn't really a big deal - to me anyway. As I said previously, I hadn't seen it among all the others in the big thread and felt it should be separate from the more serious (?) discussion. But I got an alert that it had been moved and I could find it nowhere. That, by definition, if not intent, is censorship. Strangely, I've never been a proponent of keeping or dumping Geno, but have always been of the opinion that with the timing and supporting cast of his experiences here he deserved another shot at the job. Who knows how that will turn out now?
You been posting here long? Complaining about stupid threads and idiot posts are pretty much 90% of the content here. But I see your point. You should still be embarassed for yourself.
Can someone repost that one about a white powdery substance being found on the field? That one KILLS me. _
Just like newspapers are not obligated to print any editorial or op-ed piece they receive, this site is not obligated to let everything stay. It most probably was combined into another thread or moved to "The Cesspool", even if it was deep sixed it probably deserved it. Editorial control of a website is not censorship. Go make a sign with your post and march on the corner with it.
