Yeah, it's definitely not the same. The passing game is something pretty cool and amazing but I love watching an offensive line dismantle a defense and seeing a fullback clear the hole. Even watching a high school team perfectly execute a play is awesome. Quarterbacks are treated like they're made out of glass and the new rules on defense make certain aspects almost unwatchable at times. It's one thing seeing a flag on a clean stick but it's even worse seeing a DB pull up and then watching someone run for a TD. The game will be gone inside of 10 years is my guess and it'll be flag football we're left with. The passing game can stay, QB's don't get hurt. It's stupid though.
It's Brady's deposition in the NFL appeal. There is a link somewhere in this thread. I'll post it later. It's a weird NFL completely caterered to the QB.
Agreed, and the league probably agrees as well. This would be a good bargaining chip for them at the next CBA, when the Union is sure to want to do away with Goodell's ability to be judge/jury/executioner. Even when he was on Roger's good side, I doubt he had enough power to try to tell him to end things. And he sure as hell has no clout over the NFLPA.
dude your team's bitch ass QB, his crying, and your owner's bullshit is like one of the major reasons for what you are complaining about. Every damn time Brady gets touched he cries - worse than any QB ever to play the game. He gets hurt one year from a body rolling up into his legs, so they literally change rules because of him. Quarterbacks are treated like they're made of glass because some of them are and have to make it known every game (Brady) Which also speaks to this current problem, deflate gate. Brady's such a bitch he can't play with the balls the league offers up. He WANTS to bring his own footballs to the game. So they change the rule for him- and even that's too much! he has to fuckin have them deflated too! Oh- and he breaks the rules so they give him a punishment like every other player in this league gets for breaking the rules. surprise, surprise he bitches about that too. I mean, he's gotten special treatment his whole fuckin career why stop now?
Look, the guy has been pretty lights out and being realistic about it all nobody with a winning QB is going to disparage that QB. But I'll agree with you on the sissy stuff with Brady (although I don't think he specifically is driving it any more than say PM). It actually bothers me much more when he whines to a ref about falling down than it does him being accused of ordering the code red on the footballs. On a football level, taking my team and it's history out of it. I'd like to see them play with rocks on game day. Unmanipulated by anyone for tackified surface and see 4 times the fumbles. (I'm wondering if there are NFL fumbling stats as a league after 2006?) I'd like to see the QB's take hits, and make their physical toughness part of the game rather than how far they can throw before two hand touch. I really don't give a shit if it effects Brady, it's the game I want to watch. It's the reason I picked Steve Grogan as a screen name, not TomBrady252316523416.
Um, no. That's a player on his knees lunging at and hitting a player below the knees. You can't blame Pollard for finishing the play, but that was a smart rule change by the league.
This part is GOLD...after this LONG rigorous, meticulous process...can't tell the difference the Officials made to the ball....is that believable?
You're shocked? The opportunity to auction/give away/ sell what probably equates to over 100 balls that have their value go through the roof because they are "superbowl game used"? This is exactly the type of money over everything bullshit i expect from this league. i'm shocked Tom wasn't forced to put on a fresh jersey every time he took the field for the same reason. This is the same league who fined Lynch for wearing his personal branded hat instead of a Seahawks one. Which is extra fucked up when you point out the leagues official hats and Lynch's brands hats are both made by New Era.
Are you referring to the SB availability? Because he was not fined just for the reasons you mentioned: "Marshawn Lynch complied with his obligation to attend all required media sessions at the Super Bowl," NFL spokesman Michael Signora told Rapoport. "In addition, there is no basis for a fine for the ('Beast Mode') hat he wore at the media sessions, which was made by and given to him by an NFL licensee, New Era, and was in team colors." http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...rshawn-lynch-wont-be-fined-for-beast-mode-hat
