You do realize these are over testosteroned / over muscled / macho dudes and the "punchers" job was essentially to smash people into the ground? Not saying any of these actions are just, but the expectations should be a little different from the average "workplace environment"
Wow, you have absolutely zero context for what occurred. You live in the real world. These guys do not. Real world rules don't apply. Do you get to put a swim move on the cafeteria turnstyle and blind side tackle the cashier checking you out at your firms cafe? When someone is trying to get to the copier machine before you, do you get to drive your shoulder into his sternum inches from him getting there? Have you ever heard of a rock band backstage having a massive fight where the bass player breaks the douchebag lead singer's nose 15 minutes before a concert? _
Lol--my buddy just sent something to the copier and for a meeting in 5 mins and I had sent something earlier--so just as we approached and he went to key in his code, I shouldered him out of the way and put mine in instead. _
I can guarantee you I played a higher level of football than you. That statement is just plain nonsense.
Than why has it been said repeatedly that no one has ever seen anybody punch someone in the locker room before? What you do on the field, doesn't translate to the real world, where we have laws and social norms.
real world rules still do, and still should apply Stokes. I agree with Section 336. plenty of NFL players can be tough and can deal with arguments in the locker room without cold cocking their teammate. IK is the asshole no matter what IMO. If Geno Smith waved his dick in his face, I'd still blame IK for swinging at him. You don't punch out your teammate. I have no respect for him. Geno is probably a little bitch and was probably acting like a punk ass, but you don't punch him. the bond in the locker room trumps anything else, just my opinion, and I am glad the Jets cut his ass for it
I agree that the expectations should be a little different, but stricter, not laxer. These guys are already feeling too entitled, above the law, and their previous "mistakes" have been swept under the rug and overlooked their whole lives. That's what's wrong with them now. You do realize that these guys could kill someone with their bare hands and the average citizen could not, don't you?
I hope this is tongue in cheek. If not, then this post is just as stupid as most of the rest I've seen on this site over the last couple of days.
No doubt, I'm not qualified either and I wouldn't punch anyone in the mouth. What you're not understanding is that the most effective football players are the ones that do. The rates of criminal violence of professional football players vs other sports bears that out
That pretty much goes out the window when you use your glass jaw that's attached to a punchable face to mouth off...
If you believe that no one has ever punched anyone in a locker room before then I don't know what to tell you. There have been 1000s of punches on practice fields and work out areas and training facilities and the like. You honestly think that NO ONE in 80 years of football has been punched in a locke room? The locker room is an extension of the field. The laws and norms of society do not translate to the inner workings of NFL teams. _
They maybe SHOULD apply but they don't. But that's not the narrative--336 is comparing his workplace to an NFL locker room. It's naive. _
If that's the case, then why did Bowles immediately cut Ik? Why didn't he do as IDFJet suggests and send him to anger management classes and suspend him? You yourself said that Bowles wouldn't tolerate that kind of shit. Which is it? You can't have it both ways.
Which part of both my statements that are completely aligned did you not understand. I think this happens FAR more often that we know. However Bowles will NOT stand for it. It's two sides of the same coin. _
Wait a minute--do people really think this is the first punch ever thrown in a locker room between teammates? Wow. We only heard about it because a jaw was broken and it was the starting QB. If Durrel Eskridge punched Tanner Purdum, and Purdum shook it off, we'd likely have never heard about it other than Eskridge getting cut. _
