Where did you read/hear that Geno told Ik that he needed Ik to pay for the ticket? Where did you read/hear that Geno just didn't show up and didn't call? I've seen nothing that says that. If that's true, then you're right and Geno is a gigantic ass. I also agree that Geno probably didn't have to take his brother to the hospital. There probably would have been someone else that could have done that, but we don't know that. I get the feeling that Geno probably didn't want to go do the camp anyway. If that's the case, he should have just told Ik "no" to begin with.
It would be helpful if we could sort through the information and find the facts. While many early reports had someone close to Geno dying it seemed the reports regarding his brother's bike accident were more recent and therefore more accurate. The Twitter posts included a date and time. Please let us know when your quote was reported if possible. Rather than going in circles let's try to get the facts.
It didn't happen in an elevator. How is this any different than domestic violence? Geno was fucking IK... wasn't he?
We have established that Bowles, Mangold, and Colon were not eye witnesses. Let's stick with quotes from those who saw what happened.
In the end your unwavering support for smith isn't going to matter one bit. You might as well start thinking of him now as the most recent former Jets starting QB to be out of a job.
http://m.bleacherreport.com/article...th-ik-enemkpali-locker-might-have-looked-like Video of the fight has emerged!! ^
we're never going to get 100% accurate facts about it. but i'd guess the players have a pretty good idea of what happened.....especially those in the room. why are none of them defending Geno right now? he's getting roasted. to me, that says everything we need to know. he's not the right solution for this team, and may even be part of the problem.
Revis who did witness the incident said that both players were to blame. To say at this point that Geno was sitting down or minding his own business when the punch came is ridiculous.
Willie McGinest goes one step further. He would have offered IK a contract extension. Enemkpali wouldn't have been released if Willie McGinest was running the team though. During a Wednesday appearance on NFL Network, the former Patriots linebacker said that Smith's "not even good" and that he would've kept Enemkpali around. "It has nothing to do with who's soft or who's not," McGinest said. "If you're a respected player in that locker room and other players respect you at a certain level -- Geno's not a superstar, he's not an elite quarterback, he's not even good at this point." So how bad does McGinest think Smith is? The former Patriots linebacker said he would've rewarded Enemkpali for the punch that broke Smith's jaw. "I would have called (Enemkpali) upstairs to give him a contract extension," McGinest said. "I want guys like that on my team to go to war with." McGinest isn't the only ex-player who seems to be taking Enemkpali's side. On Tuesday, Hall of Famer Cris Carter basically blamed Smith getting punched on Smith.
I already said Geno takes some of the blame, I guess that is how I spin it. It is clear where you stand though since you think pointing equals getting physical.
Yes, Geno was terrible he, "gasp", pointed at him. I am sure you can find someone that thinks Geno did no wrong but I have said from the beginning that he shares some of the blame. What he did was not deserving of a broken jaw.
Where did I even come close to saying Geno tried to avoid a fight? I didn't but that is what I would expect from you, can't make a case for what you believe so you claim others said something they never came close to saying. Keep trying though, you may be able to twist enough words to make your posts seem right.
McGinest is fucking idiot trying to make a name for himself outside of football. It worked for his jackass buddy Rodney Harrison. Say the stupidest shit possible and they'll put you on tv because its different
Here's a sad trivia question..the Jets have never had a starting QB that started for them for more than one year (and maybe even only one year) that retired a Jet. I wonder if there is any other team in the league that can say that..probably..maybe Jacksonville or somebody like that.
