I agree with letting go IKE, you can't have that in the locker room it's not good for the team. Quite frankly I think Geno should be let go too but they have too much invested in him to not see him through his contract. But as bad as what IKE did, I think he should get a chance on another team eventually for a tryout. I hope he gets the chance but he'll probably be radioactive for a long time
Potential Big Losers from latest Geno Incident:a) Bowles and Mac. No chance on your picked starter at QB. They are SMH saying "what did we step into??????" Need an immediate Plan B b) Team Jets: in total disarray. Potential Big Winners: a) Bowles and Mac. Both Coach and GM have discovered how potentially damaging GSmith is from below average performance over past 2 years, practically ruining your new wide out (the other Smith) in TC, showing poor judgement off the field and in locker room. Also, IK is a third string headcase you can live without along with the first string mental boy Geno. b) Team Jets will function better. Fitzpatric and Petty will be like a breath of fresh air together with whomever QB the Team finds. Bowles uses this trouble, like Belicheat to motivate Team to high level. Gotta keep smiling.
But Geno Smith probably handled it the wrong way with IKE. That is why he got punched...You don't point a finger in a man's face and piss them off even more. Geno is like a mess when it comes to taking care of his own situations.

The tweets are right except it doesn't address the whole issue. Becht and Feely were making much more money than IK $600 is squat to them. Geno didn't deserve to get punched out, he just doesn't have the leadership qualities to lead this team. fair enough, i agree Boomer is taking it too far by saying this is a good thing. while i'm more comfortable with Fitz starting, we are down a QB, a promising OLB, and Bowles is under an unnecessary and distracting microscope right out of the gate. that's not a good thing.
Did Boomer elaborate? I'm sure he had a reason why he thinks this is, might be, could be good for the Jets. He wouldn't just say this is great for the Jets, he seems too rational. More so than that other bald clown.
Talk about spinning it around lol there are questions for both sides when so many assumptions are being made. What about the main guy? The guy that got released? The guy that threw the punch? Putting a finger in another mans face is physical? We have no idea what led up to that. IK could've been verbally destroying Geno for all we know just as Geno could've him. Making assumptions without knowing what the hell actually happened is just dumb. None of us know what was said before any of the "physical" and actually physical stuff happened.
that is a good article......hadn't seen it yet. it's always concerned me the lukewarm reaction veterans seem to have when discussing Geno. i feel his attitude somehow is off putting to many teammates, and that's a bad sign. again no one on the team seems to be jumping to his defense.. I'm hoping all these distractions are preseason only, and Bowles becomes a stronger coach as a result of these experiences. all eyes are on him now, and it's an opportunity to put his stamp on this team. also hoping Fitz takes this opportunity to EARN the respect and trust of this team, now that there's no question he's starting, and he'll get all the work with the first unit. those are the only potential silver linings i can find, and they are TBD..
What about IK? He was wrong, he's the worst human in the history, everything he did was wrong. We got that down. Let's move on to what Geno might not have handled right. If we're allowed to. Why didn't he walk away from this? @The Waterboy & @MoProblems96 brought this up with IK, it's always better to walk away instead of fighting somebody. So how do you justify what Geno did? Why did he go the opposite direction, start arguing with IK and put his finger in IK's face? How is that trying to avoid fighting somebody? Makes no sense, does it?
For all you know maybe Geno did walk away from it, he didn't throw the punch. He didn't start the fight. Maybe he exchanged words and put his finger in IKE's face (oh the humanity) but he got punched by another man. It doesn't matter what Geno did because he didn't throw the punch. If he threw the 1st punch and then got his jaw broken he had it coming but sticking your finger in another man's face is not getting physical. Sure a little disrespectful but seriously? That is getting physical where you come from?
