As usual yuou are obtuse. I said it depends on why the O might be stagnant and gave reasons other than Qb play why it might be. Are you saying if the O is stagnant despite good play by Fitzpatrick, you would bring Smith back? You probably are, now that I think about it.
No, you are trying to take this down some tangent where you can cloud the waters with long posts of b.s. i didn't think i needed to make some long post about every possible way the offense could be sputtering. We are speaking on qbs, i apologize #or assuming that was clear when i made my post. I will try to spell things out in definite detail in the future just for you
The Jets will be fine. Fitz is NOT a downgrade from Geno and, I believe, may be an upgrade based on how this team is constructed. I wouldn't be upset if Smith never came back. I don't think Geno will ever be the QB answer or be a leader on this team. Let's just pick up another veteran backup (Grossman?) and develop Bryce Petty for the future. I can live without more great Geno performances when the Jets are out of it and there is no pressure.
Suit yourself, but for myself I rarely see anything of value in your posts. It's not whether you "spell things out" or not. You simply do not have anything worthwhile to say.
Go ahead and put me on ignore. You never have any responses to my posts that have any value. For example you said my first post here was bs clouding the issue. As if syaing there are other reasons why the O being stagnant is clouding the issue whether Smith should be put back in there. Then I also made this point: As far as seeing what Smith can do, that is a very different question from one where camp and all of pre-season is used to set him up going into the regular season. Coming back from injury, weight loss, lack of practice... Not good That point was directly relevant to yours about the plan for Smith this year. How was THAT clouding the issue? I get that you have already given up on Fitzpatrick and love Smith. I get that we tend to not agree. But your posts here are without merit.
Ftr i don't have anyone on ignore. I am a big enough boy to look past what i don't feel like reading. As for the rest. I feel like you are asking for things to be addressed that most feel go withouy saying. But since you insist, provided geno is back and looking like he has in camp thus far, and further providing fitz seems to be the weak link in a sputtering offense, i believe bowles will be more inclined to go to back to smith. The assertion that smiths carreer here is done is a bit premature i.m.o. i look forward to you showing me what loopholes.
What I read yesterday would seem to say that was not the case at all. He was presumed to be the starter and he was taking the first string snaps but Gailey would not name a starter until he saw how everybody played in the preseason games.
The starter is currently injured. The backup is starting until the starter is healthy enough to play. It was Geno's job to lose, being that he was the incumbent. He was going to start week 1.
all that has changed. according to Bowles, Fitzpatrick is now the starter, and he would not commit to putting Geno back into the starting role once healthy. in other words, Geno is no longer the starting QB for the NYJ in any way
Not in any form or fashion but for now. Todd also said it depends on circumstances or where we're at in the season.
The Jets are better off at QB for game 1 right now than they've been since 2011. If Geno turned the corner he'd have been a better option than Fitzpatrick but we don't know how much better an option. It really sucks that we lost Geno to the punch but we've got somebody who can adequately replace the production we expected out of him and who will do so in a more reliable fashion. This is why the Fitzpatrick pickup was such a good move.
If I want your advice I will ask for it. Plus where do you get off thinking you are in a postion to offer such advice??? The poster I was talking to and I do not get along here, and I thought his critiicism of me was uncalled for. Perhaps you felt otherwise, or had not noticed. Next time, mind your own business.
With our Veteran Defense to shut the other teams down, Fitz with a good WR corp sand RB group will be just fine. I am so happy to have Fitz starting and Geno not even in a uniform.
