There are verbal confrontations in locker rooms everyday and hardly any if any at all turn physical. IK is obviously insane and has a lot of issues. Geno had no obligation to pay but as reports have said he was still going to anyway. I take it that both players took it too far pre punch but in the end only one guy threw a punch and that's the same guy that won't be playing in the league anymore.

LOL Buddy Ryan threw a punch at one of his co-workers on the sidelines when he was with the Houston Oilers. There have been people killed for less than 600 dollars. You tell these guys to be warriors everyday and on Sunday and then you expect them to be choir boys other times. Some do and some don't. For some there is no on/off switch see Bill Romanowski or Lyle Alzado.

That's a good effort but Ryan Clark or any other source have nothing to do with what Smith did wrong or not wrong here.

It seems like the media is going out of their way to put the blame on Geno. I don't care what Geno did. It doesn't warrant getting your face caved in. If this happened with any other QB, they'd be demonizing the player who did it rather than trying to justify it.

How many verbal confrontations are there with the Starting Qb and a fringe LB? Yes IK took to an unacceptable level but WTF was the starting QB arguing with the guy in the first place. A qb with that bad of judgement I do not want as my starting QB and face of the franchise.

There is one problem with your argument it did not happen to another QB has never happened to another Qb and most likely never will again.

Most Qbs are smart enough not to get altercations with unstable LBs. Could have imagined Phil Simms getting in the face of someone like LT. No, why because Phil Simms was smart enough not to do that.

It wasn't about money, can people please stop acting like IK was starving and needed the money? It's about lack of respect. First of all he promised to show up to that charity event. He didn't. Not only did he not show up, he didn't even bother to call up and say that he wouldn't make it. Not only did he not call up, he wouldn't even answer any calls or texts. Not only that, he didn't bother to pay IK back the money he paid for the plane ticket. And then camp rolls around, he still hasn't paid him back. Again, has nothing to do with the money, it's about somebody showing your respect. If this was over 1 dollar it would have ended the same. People fight over stupid crap all the time, not because they need one dollar but because they want to be treated with respect. The one report was saying that IK didn't even approach him. So that again is wrong, the fact that IK went to Geno every day asking for his money because he can't afford to pay for food. That didn't happen. IK I guess just stopped talking to Geno because he felt disrespected, he didn't want to deal with him. At that point you leave the guy alone. This isn't your wife, you're not gonna hug it out. Leave him alone, he'll be over it in a couple weeks. So Geno walks up to him again and IK is still pissed, they start arguing, Geno puts his finger in IK's face and goes "what are you going to do about it?" and then he gets clocked. This is based on what we've heard so far. It's not about money, this can't be stressed enough.

Often. You don't hear about it because no QB or any position for that matter has to deal with a guy like IK. Cam Newton got into a physical on the field with a fringe CB two days ago. It's not uncommon for guys not named Manning, Brees, Rodgers, ect to be just another guy.

Or, crazy thought here, all but 1 lb knows enough to not punch someone in the face in the locker room.

Thats my point. As unhinged and un discplined as buddy and his teams were, no one ever got clocked in the locker room. It doesn't happen. But its justified now, according to you, because G.S put a finger in his face?

Well never is a stretch...it DID happen to Roger Staubach of all people when his backup Clint Longley sucker punched him.

Who said same? If anything you are correct it's worse that Cam put himself at risk by fighting. Geno got "sucker punched" and did not react.

Tom Landry teams were disciplined and the poster boys for the NFL. Clint Longley sucker punch Roger " Mr. All American" Staubach. You never know what can trigger a person to go off.

I heard that IK thanked Geno for deciding not to show up because the cancellation announcement increased enrollment. Geno insisted on showing up but IK leveled him to keep him from showing up for the sake of the football camp.
