or he could've walked away. he'd still be making $500,000 salary right now. I bet he wishes he chose that option
If you think, based upon the various stories that have been reported, that this is 100% on IK, then we have a lack of agreement there. _
Wait--you just said that no one is claiming Geno is innocent yet you put 100% of the blame for the entire incident on IK? Guilt and innocence is apportionment of blame. _
It doesn't matter if Geno wanted to pay him back 2 weeks later or not. Or whether IK walked up to him. We know what was important in this story. Geno owed him money, he hadn't paid him back. They started arguing, Geno put his finger in IK's face and then he got clocked. The rest is really not that important.
I guess. But you'd have to be on Lithium in that locker room not to know when something is lingering in the air. This seems to have been going on between them for a while. An athlete knows where his pay check is coming from.... that had to cross IK's mind before he clocked him. This isn't high school. They are pros.
no dude- you don't get it. The ENTIRE backstory is really not that important. IK broke a man's jaw. IK broke a teammates jaw. IK broke the starting QBs jaw. That's the only part of the story that really matters. the REST of everything else is not that important
We are saying the same thing but in different words. Just know that we do agree. I'm looking at this as two separate entities, the punch in the situation in general. Geno has some blame in this situation for sure but when looking at just that punch, it's still unclear whether or not Geno did anything to provoke him. Big picture, he did. But I'm making it about just this incident since it's the only thing that affects the team. ...but we have no idea if this is true considering the multiple reports with different details. This is pretty much how I'm viewing it too.
That would only be true if BOTH players got kicked off of the team. As long as Geno Smith is on the roster and could potentially be our starting QB his behavior, maturity, and leadership or lack thereof are very much at issue here.
Geno Smith is to partial blame for an argument with a teammate solely.. not for a situation where the teammate got violent! if the story stopped and they were screaming at each other and teammates separated them, then we argue apportionment of blame. should geno have paid him? etc. but once IK grew an arm out of his ass then its completely separate and he's solely to blame for that
No I get it, I just can't separate the punch from whatever occurred leading up to the punch. For me it's one big mess that never should have gotten to that point. _
yes, maturity/leadership/behavior from a football sense is an issue here with Geno Smith. IKs actions go well beyond football and stretch into criminal action. That's vastly different. 2 separate conversations
