There's clearly fault with both sides, but particularly with Geno, in the build up. But nothing, absolutely nothing, excuses (or is a valid reason for) IK punching Geno. If I'm Geno I do what he did but give IK the money, plus a bit perhaps. If I'm IK I get annoyed and loud but I don't hit Geno.
Blaming Geno publicly is already a sign they're not letting him off the hook. I mean I'm not exactly expecting the Jets go to above and beyond what anyone else does. For his other problems as a HC, Herm was pretty much the only one in the league beyond reproach when it came to player discipline considering he suspended John Abraham and Larry Johnson for off-field stuff that almost every other organization (including ours post-Herm with Braylon and other things) sweeps under the rug.
People are killing the Jets for not doing enough to punish Geno...but they can't exactly come out and excuse a guy throwing a punch either. Especially with all the problems the NFL has had with off-field violence in recent years. They're pretty much doing all they can do without appearing to blame the victim or excusing violence with Revis publicly excoriating him and Bowles saying he won't automatically get his job back after he had been automatically ceded the starting job in camp.
I don't think Geno should be punished. It's a camp altercation over an off-field, close season incident. He deserves some criticism for his role in the build up and could have handled it better by apologizing and paying the guy, but that's about it. He didn't throw a punch. His approach could have been better but there's nothing really to punish him for.
the jets should simply say that getting your jaw broken, and possibly missing 2 months of football and potentially your starting job is enough punishment for a $600 debt to a teammate
So you'd just walk away? A guy half your size, half as tough, owes you money, gets in your face, puts his finger in his face and you just walk away. Interesting.
yeah thats what reasonable human beings do. thats also what teammates do. also what scrub LBs do when they don't wanna lose their job
Everyone is losing sight of Geno's close friend that died in the bike accident. Who mourns for him? _
How is this so hard to believe? Edit: you're STILL ignoring the report that says Geno offered him the money at the start of camp.
When you have a friend die I think that is more important than football camp. If IK doesn't understand that then I am doubly glad he is gone.
Numerous sources have it as his brothers best friend dying in a motorcycle accident. Where did you get that about his brother?
Geno an asshole here along with IK. I feel the same way about protecting Geno along. On principle they both go. So the story yesterday it was a dear friend to his brothers friend. Next it will be Geno'sGeno's barber son'sson's cousin What you and Geno protectors are doing is not being fair in your view. A leader does not do that. You are all acting like 600 dollars is nothing. Well if it why didn't Geno lay it bac after a month. Now for the nara tim read earlier Geno was unprotected and prone. BULL-SHIT how does a 6 ft tall man hit a another 6ft tall man in the jaw if he is not standing up. They both are fault . I just am thankful we won't have to deal with Geno this yr and possibly ever again. I want that asshole gone far away from this team. 10 cent brain million dollar arm. Guys protecting Geno on this are worse then the Tebow lovers that were on here.
