Boomer and Carton have repeatedly ripped Geno Smith on their show, not just for football play, but with personal attacks as well. They've used insults like "lazy", "incompetent" and said that he has "absolutely no clue what he's doing". As a result, Geno declined to appear on their radio show when they requested him earlier this week. They have some weird personal vendetta against him and I'll believe 0% of what they say until it's confirmed by someone with a brain.
I don't care about his status within the league. He's not playing for any other team, he is the starting QB of this team. That is the only thing that matters, he is THE guy here, so if he was taking the steps to solidify that for this team, good for him. He is playing the most important position on this team, he should demand respect and take that leadership role. If this is what this was, then I applaud him.
Unless we start winning and then we have exactly what we had with Rex, a circus with a winning record..we can live with that.
Nonsense. Randy Moss said Pennington threw the best deep ball of anyone he ever played with - and he played with Jeff George and Randall Cunningham (and Brady). Like he said, the arm comments came after the surgeries. And the dumbest thing is, the surgeries didn't really affect his deep arm that much. What fans interpreted as reduced arm strength was really just Pennington eventually getting beaten down by Herm and Hackett to the point where he was afraid to throw anything farther than three yards past the line of scrimmage (which is exactly what Herm and Hackett wanted). They destroyed his career far more than any arm surgery.
If he really hit him over $1000 dollars as an NFL player that's pathetic.....Geno had to of said something that set him off....
What the hell is Geno doing borrowing money from a fringe 2nd year player? Geno is with Roc Nation, does he not watch "Ballers"??? He needs to borrow that money from 'his representation'. Man if this is true, I would suspend Geno for a lack of brain.
He called someone? I mean this didn't happen in a dark alley, plenty of people have to know what the argument was about.
What on earth makes you think anything you just said is relevant when his COACH said it was a kiddie fight that any two 6th graders could solve in 30 seconds?
Bowles did say that. Which makes me think Esiasons report is a lie because what 6th graders do you know run up $1000 debts with each other?
Oh, I somehow missed that you applaud Smith. Seriously, Smith is not a proven Qb, he's not a top Qb. He shouldn't be the starting Qb. But this post is realy for others here since you seem to accept no criticism of Smith at all. Have a nice day.
There are 2 sides of this incident. Human Side: It is a shame what happened to Geno and this is no time to mock the guy etc. I wish him speedy recovery and I hope he can come back quick and either lead the Jets or be on the sidelines backing up whoever the QB is. Football Side: Not much lost imo. Yes he started the training camp well but his biggest issue has always been managing pressure for a full 4 quarters during the game. I for one don't think Fitz will be a huge downgrade or anything. At most we will either win or lose 1 extra game before Geno comes back. The biggest thing I am upset about is, if Geno didn't get hurt, we would have seen him with this new regime and finally make a final call on him. This was the year to find out what Geno was all about. Unfortunately, now looks like we won't have that chance unless Geno comes back strong in 6 weeks.
