Yes dude, everything matters with that. If he was doing it just to do it, Geno was acting like a bitch. If he was acting like a leader should and putting a third stringer in his place for the betterment of the team, the good for Geno. Putting a finger in someone's face isn't that fucking bad, especially if its in a leadership demeanor, ESPECIALLY when it's put up against another guy breaking his fucking jaw, hurting the team and fans in the process. You Geno bias is laughable.
It's going to be hard replacing Geno's interceptions. Where will ever find someone as bad as Geno to play QB? People talking about IK getting picked up somewhere are crazy. He will never play in the NFL again. What team would take the risk that IK will injure one of their key players? You don't punch your QB. Not at any level.
Hello everyone! First time poster and Bills fan. We have Jimmy Spagnuolo (NYJ fan) come to our board from time to time, so I figured I'd chime in on Fitzpatrick. Sorry to hear the news about Geno. It's one thing to get injured during practice/game, but to get sucker punched and be taken out for 6-10 weeks is messed up. With Fitzpatrick, you're getting a very smart QB, but one that is very erratic. Fitz is a tough QB who can take a hit and will tuck his head and run for tough yards to get the first down. With the Bills, under Chan Gailey, Fitz would have a really good game followed by a three to four bad one's. Fitz was never able to play good on a consistent basis. Then again, Fitz's top receivers in Buffalo at the time were Stevie Johnson, David Nelson and Scott Chandler, so he could have better success with Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker. With Gailey, he had Fitz throw very quickly (usually a three step drop), and uses a lot of trip formations. The O-line in Buffalo wasn't great at the time which is a reason why Gailey had Fitz throw the ball almost as soon as he got it from the Center.
I don't think so. If they beleive Geno is the guy then I feel like even if Fitz wins against Cleveland and plays well enough to keep us in the game with the Colts then he will still be pulled for the starting QB Geno Smith. Then if Geno does what some expect he will and flounders through a few games before they pull him for Fitz it might be too late. This whole situation sucks, terrible timing.
Unless what the QB was arguing with him about him doing something or being something of a selfish dumb ass. Then it is the exact opposite of what you are saying, it is the QB stepping up and trying to be a leader on the team.
Putting a finger in someone's face in a football lockerroom is not exactly going nuclear. Then what do you think of the 5 dozen preseason skirmishes that happen every year?
Don't provoke? Who the fuck has reported that it was provoking? Leaders do this. All the fucking time. Parents, Teachers, Cops, Judges, Military.. The finger in the face is a means that all of these type of leaders do, its an effective tactic that has been used throughout time. The big QBs on this league do this very same thing as well. Coaches do it as well. Sigh...
That's different. Guys wear their gear, nobody ever gets hurt in those brawls. What's the worst thing you can do to a football player with his gear on? Nothing. You punch him you break your hand.
Boomer Esiason is on NFL network reporting that Geno owed IK a lot of money. How could he possibly know that?
why would a starting qb owe a fringe player a bunch of money? other than some crazy bet i cant see this being true
Geno Smith isn't a big time QB and hasn't earned anything in this league yet. He has no right to provoke others. Even so, certain players you can't just do this w/ ... IK has anger issues
It is really a bizarre story. Maybe this will stop some people on this board from calling for Fitz after the first three and out. Geno should be ready by week three.
Well the coach said it was a childish argument and 6th graders could have talked it out, so I'd guess the argument was Geno and IK both being morons, then Geno got into his face and IK decked him. Also Drill Sergeants put the finger in the face as a way of proving dominance. It isn't something grown men usually do to someone they aren't in a position of authority over without it causing a fight. TL: DR- they're both morons, but IK needs to control himself better than that, this probably happens pretty often, but it never gets beyond shoving. Throwing a punch is a big no-no for professional athletes, and most learn it well before the pros.
