Calvin Pryor just hurt his hand in practice. Went for a PD then ran off the field in pain, went to the locker room.
There really isn't much else that Jets fans can do. Instead of turning on each other I really think we are better off having what little fun we can as we commiserate over the latest turn of events. I am sure the Patriots fans weren't too happy when Mo Lewis put Drew Bledsoe in the hospital.
They had an argument, Geno put his finger in IK's face, nobody got between them and IK knocked him out. Is it really that important to know what led Geno to putting his finger in IK's face? Nothing would justify that. That's such highschool crap. Talk trash all you want, don't get physical in any way shape or form.
Good riddance Ike. What a piece of garbage. It sounded like Geno was taking a step forward, I feel bad for him.
Agreed I think its comical that people are placing blame on Geno. An argument turned into getting sucker punched and yet somehow he contributed? So anyone who thinks Geno is at fault I hope you never get into an argument for the rest of your life. Because if someone sucker punches you and breaks your jaw without you hitting them first, that means, according to many on this board, you deserve it. lol. The logic is hilarious.
You don't even know what your talking about. Please find me the quotes that said Smith was picking on IK. While your at it, all those other players you mentioned, they would clock Smith if he would've done what exactly? What did he do exactly? Nobody knows. You sound like a child.
The fact that any player on the roster was mad enough to punch their own quarterback in the face, shows that Geno doesn't command respect from his peers. After the two picks yesterday, that were returned for touchdowns, we're probably in better hands with Fitz under center.
You definitely don't put your hands on someone's face though. You gotta keep your hands to yourself. If that is what Geno did.
I would at least make a phone call to the Titans. With Mariota off to a good start, Mettenberger would be a good, cap friendly option.
Why am I not surprised by something like this happening? Every time things start to be improving the team finds a way to let the fans down. I will say this: Geno sucks and losing him isn't a huge loss for this particular season. The problem is that we needed him this year as his "prove it" year. If he had a good year we could maybe stick with him, if not then we will obviously have to move on. It's going to be difficult now with a smaller sample size to work with and considering by the time he gets on the field we'll likely already have a pretty bad losing record. I'll bet good money that we suck out of the gate, Geno comes in before the halfway mark and shows enough to keep people wondering if he can be the guy and we're in the same situation we were in going into this season next year.
So don't put a finger in someones face for reason we don't know but punch someone in the face so hard it breaks the other persons jaw because a finger was put in face? Got it.
Nobody knows exactly what happened but everything I have read says there was an altercation and to me that means a verbal fight and when atheletes have verbal fights in front of their teammates more times than not it becomes physical. The fact the QB of the team wasn't smart enough to walk away tells me it was as much or more his fault as the guy who gets cut..he is supposed to be a leader and he showed anything but leadership..fuck him.
IK may have been a ticking time bomb but there were at least 50 other guys in that locker room with enough common sense to avoid a punch in the face.
Don't provoke your teammates; if you have an issue with someone, talk and try and work it out. That's what a leader in the locker room does.
