Kotite was a certifiable moron. Baxter was a great FB. I loved him. He made one of the most beautiful blocks I've ever seen and one of the most memorable plays I've ever seen a Jets player make. He picked up a blitzer, lifted him up in the air, drove him backward 5-10 yards and put him on his ass. He just completely destroyed the guy. It was a real thing of beauty.
Aaron Glenn is beloved by Jets fans despite unfortunately getting burned on the Marino fake spike in front of what was the biggest home crowd in organization history, a key late season game... We forgave him and he was very well liked and respected in his time here. Aaron Glenn is exhibit A as to why its asinine when dumb asses give Jets fans shit... yes that stupid opinion sometimes comes from even some of our own Jets "fans" who wouldn't know their ass from a hole in the ground with their "this fan base sucks" etc. They can all go fuck themselves for all I care because if Glenn played with MANY other organizations he'd been just destroyed in the public opinion of the fanbase. Imagine if he played in Philly? that's just one example but in many places the fickle fanbases would've never gotten passed that with him. Here we all remember that awful sequence but we are smart enough to get passed it and we respect Glenn for his 100s of other plays here over the years.
One of my favorite live games of all time. I took my daughter who was 15 at the time--huge Jet fan-- and when we got there it wasn't that bad, but as the game went on, the snow kept piling up and we kept getting dumped on. Every 5 minutes we had to get up to knock the snow off of us. Stadium less than half filled. After the game she said "Dad, we'll never forget that game" and it warmed my heart. And every time we see a snowflake on a football field we look at each other and it warms my heart again. We've never forgotten. _
Martin was incredible that game. It was like all the other players hated the snow and Martin loved it and got better with all the snow.
More of THE number 28. Wish he could've gotten a lombardi, he deserved it. A class act through and through
Tonight's the night! All I want is for Petty to show me out QB search is over....... That's not asking for too much is it? Lol
Nice memory for you and your daughter, Stokes, IMO classic photos from the type of games I always loved that were compromised by inclement weather, one of the best things about football
Yeah, she's getting married next May on the Cape. Her fiance is a massive Colts fan--I envy him that his entire life he's basically had Peyton Manning and now Andrew Luck. _
