None of my posts stated that you don't like immigrants or are a racist. I don't know you, or whether you like or don't like immigrants, or whether or not you're a racist. My apologies if that's how my posts read. Also, I don't think that we disagree on needing a comprehensive immigration reform. It's not "out of the blue." Race and immigration are tied because people use things like skin color and accents as an initial indicator of whether the person is foreign, native, citizen, or immigrant. (Whether it's on a site, office, or street, it happens in the initial evaluation process, which is typically corrected or confirmed by a follow up like, "Where are you from?") When immigration laws like Arizona's SB1070 go in force, it will be non-white immigrants, deservedly or not, who will take the brunt of the enforcement. It's just the way of things. All that's to say that the connection between race and immigration is not "out of the blue" and definitely exists.
You made the claim that the article gave the impression that immigrants is just another word for "nonwhite". Those are your words. No one was talking about skin color until you brought it up. The discussion was merely about illegal immigrants and the crimes they commit. We weren't discussing "non whites" we were discussing scum bags illegally in the country committing murders, which we all agree is a problem. I don't know if anyone gives a fuck what color the illegals committing murder are but I sure don't. It seems you do and want to focus on that.
It's probably better stated that crime, especially murder, is a problem regardless of whether it's committed by immigrants, citizens, or whomever. Immigration needs to be reformed, and we need better enforcement mechanisms than what we currently have in place. Can we agree on that?
We can agree on the last part. I feel no need to sugar coat things to make anyone feel warm and fuzzy inside. If it bothers you then tough shit. Illegals are coming into our country and murdering Americans. If that's the way it needs to be said to wake people up and vote in someone that is going to fix the problem, then that's the way it needs to be said. Tip toeing around issues because we're afraid of hurting peoples feelings doesn't get us anywhere. If Americans aren't made aware of the problem they'll continue to support these BULLSHIT sanctuary cities, amnesty and the politicians that give them those things instead of supporting better enforcement of our border and crime.
Who's "whomever?" Did you mean the 'illegal' segment of the population that's disengenuously blurred into the 'immigrant' side of the ledger?
If an illegal immigrant kills another illegal immigrant is there a separate statistic for that? What if one is a south-of-the-border immigrant and the other is Irish?
They pull a knife, you pull a gun. They send one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. _
Since critical thinking is not your expertise and you get easily outraged by the latest article on some random website without fact checking, why are the illegals in this country in the first place? They are doing jobs that certain LAZY AMERICANS don't want to do. And who is hiring these people...Big business...and which party does big business contribute its dollars to? The GOP. The party controls Congress and yet not 1 single bill about the border is present...Why? I'll let you figure that out if you can. I'll also add the penalties for getting caught hiring illegals are so small that they won't deter big business in continue to hiring illegals for certain kinds of hard work. I'm sorry if the truth hurts but many of our fellow citizens work ethic is quite pathetic.
Hmm, I'm sure that happens but homicide is something that usually occurs among those with whom one is already acquainted so the highest probability is that illegal immigrants are killing illegal immigrants the vast majority of the time. Surely there's a statistic out there somewhere - where's Junc when we need him?
I think my critical thinking skills are just fine but thank you for the concern. FYI Brietbart is not a random website, it's an established conservative news site. the reason businesses like to hire illegals is that they can pay them below minimum wage and they don't report it or worse yet picket for 15/hr. it's cheap labor. it's a symbiotic relationship that has nothing to do with lazy Americans. I don't know how much legit work the murderers are interested in. My guess is that they're likely involved in other things like drug dealing and human trafficking. I never argued that lazy Americans don't exist. Surely there are far to many and they likely vote democrat. Free food, housing, i-phones, child care, health care, what else can we get for being lazy and doing nothing ... college? btw, see hr 399
fair point and there's probably something to that. still not something we want here but doesn't fit into the category I stated.
Most statistics show that these types of programs, as well as that age old one, unemployment are utilized more in red states than in blue. Probably not what you want to draw attention to.
The way a state votes does not tell you much when it comes down to who is utilizing benefits. http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tan...cs-and-demographics-of-food-stamp-recipients/ This second group does not tell much though since it includes Social Security
^I find the political ideology more fascinating from your article: First group: Second group (The programs were Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, welfare, unemployment benefits and food stamps.) It looks like there are a ton of folks who dislike one type of government spending (defense, welfare, etc) but will take the money if it is spent on them.../sigh. Fascinating article.
Social Security and medicare really should have been a separate question, to get those you need to have worked and paid into the program. Someone who has worked 30-40 years and is then collecting SS and medicare is not the same as a 19 year old kid that just doesn't want to work and gets food stamps.
