He probably got caught whacking it once, by his wife, and he blurted out "But it's an addiction". One thing though, he became addicted to porn while a part of the church. Doesn't this speak volumes if while part of the church he became addicted to porn? What part of church teachings pushed him to porn?
to be fair it might not have been church teachings but rather a combination of the hot catholic school girl in the front row and natural male testosterone.. that would push anyone to porn
Truth can post links to the horrors of the porn industry (and no shit , i already know, of course there are some terrible things done) but he cannot look within his own corrupt church, and it is indeed corrupt, and simply admit there's a problem there. it's a river in Egypt called denial. If Truth was a racehorse, in the morning racing program it would say "Blinders On"
That's not what makes them "happy". It may produce some momentary pleasure, but pleasure and happiness are not the same thing. Big difference. Pleasure often leads to unhappiness, in the long run. Even depression. As the great theologian Anthony Keidis says, "pleasure spiked with pain, that mother f@#$er's always spiked with pain." (some listen more to song lyrics or movie quotes than professors, Ph.D.'s, or theologians.) Gay people say they love each other, that they have real feelings for each other, which is fine. That's great, but it doesn't mean they should be using each other selfishly, sodomizing each other for momentary physical pleasure. Any more than straight married couples should be doing that. Love, sex, mutual masturbation (oral "sex", a misnomer), and sodomy are all very different things. And not all are healthy behaviors. ... Again, the Church has the same guidelines for all people, regardless of sexual orientation. The Church does not discriminate, its doctrine is the same for all people. BTW, the broader culture, in general, has forgotten the definition of sodomy, and that it's actually a criminal act! Sodomy Anal or oral intercourse between human beings, or any sexual relations between a human being and an animal, the act of which may be punishable as a criminal offense. http://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/sodomy
Arian Foster is impressive and courageous. This is a big deal and I really respect him for it. According to polls, more people in this country would vote for a Muslim president, a Jewish or gay president than an atheist! Plus, he is not combative or judgemental about it. He just says he believes in science and right now god or religion has no place in his life. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/13369076/houston-texans-arian-foster-goes-public-not-believing-god Best line:
Funny....but no, I was addicted before I became a devout, fully-practicing Catholic. (when I was younger I was mostly just a Catholic in name only; I went to church and maybe prayed once in a while, but I was mostly just going through the motions and didn't really believe fully). btw, I have to give props to Stokes for his skinny jeans/antiquing line, that was funny!
Today, we understand that Science and Religion are complementary, not competitive. One studies the physical, natural universe, while the other is concerned with the Spiritual, Supernatural, or Metaphysical. Many of the world's top scientists are also religious. They deal with two completely different aspects of reality.
A few things, first off sodomy is not illegal in any state in the U.S., we have this group of guys and girls that wear funny black robes and they said so. Also no matter how many times you type it, think it, imply it, sex between 2 consenting adults is healthy. That is a proven medical fact. I never said that sex was the only thing that made gay people happy but it is in most cases part of a healthy relationship. So once again, stop trying to sidestep the issue, sex is almost always part of intimate adult relationships, in a relationship with two men it is going to involve some things that you think is sinful whether it be anal sex, oral sex, etc. Admit it, you think gay men if they have a fulfilling relationship, meaning they have sex, that you think they are sinning and will burn in hell. And please explain how oral "sex" is a misnomer, because it doesn't involve the vagina or procreation? I probably had sex more in any one year in my 20's than you had in your entire life so please don't attempt to school me on sex.
Before you became a devout, fully-practicing Catholic, that was when you were 12 or 13 as you previously mentioned so you were addicted to porn before you fully hit puberty. What type of porn was your favorite? Internet videos?
Some classics from earlier in the thread. Hard to believe that someone actually thinks these statements are factual.
Everybody do yourself a favor and put this piece of human trash on your ignore list. Either he is a troll or actually believes the garbage that he regurgitates from the biggest criminal organization is the world, the Catholic Church. Either way, reading his posts are a lose/lose situation.
When you've been brainwashed to believe the lies that are out there today, the truth will sound like a lie (or "ignorance"). In fact, that's the work of the father of lies, the devil (whose biggest trick was convincing many people he doesn't exist, so he can do his work unnoticed in the shadows). Don't be fooled by his lies. How old are you, btw? Are you one of the "millenials"? If so, I can understand how you don't know some of what older generations take for granted. Our culture today has been turned upside down; lies are considered truth, and truth lies. That's why this thread is so important. It's about raising awareness and debunking myths.
As churches prepare to close, parishioners mourn Eight parishes in Westchester and Rockland will close by August 1 and merge into other parishes As an Aug. 1 closure deadline from the New York Archdiocese nears, worshipers at eight Catholic churches in Westchester and Rockland who are preparing to celebrate Mass at their neighborhood parishes for the last time have already entered a mourning period. "This is family," Church of St. Ursula parishioner Lorraine Castagnoli said one recent morning. "With this church closing, a part of my soul and my heart is dying. We come together all the time and it's just sad." While parishioners aren't losing their religion, they are losing the buildings they felt comfortable in, said the Rev. Robert Henry of Most Holy Trinity in Mamaroneck, which will merge with St. Vito Church a mile away. "I think initially people were very angry and hurt, but we worked through a process that most people have come to a point of acceptance," he said. "Our community has been so blessed to have that church for 117 years. It's heartbreaking." Members from both St. Ursula and Sacred Heart Church in Mount Vernon have submitted appeals to the Vatican against their mergers. Sacred Heart expects to receive a response in September, says parishioner Lynn Simpson. http://www.lohud.com/story/news/rel...s-westchester-rockland-parishioners/29814721/ The reason these churches are closing is not just lower attendance, but it is a result of the Catholic boom in the 1950's where dioceses expanded all over the country, churches popped up everywhere, and churches were always packed. Basically, they overexpanded. In fact, when I was a kid (in the 1980's), our parish built a much bigger church to accomodate all of the parishioners (there was standing room only at most masses). Fortunately, further upstate, churches are still packed on Sundays, parishes are thriving, and not a single parish in my area has been merged. I think the number of "fringe Catholics" is declining, but those remaining are more devout and active in their faith than ever. The Church is smaller, but more active and vibrant in many areas. And around the world, the Church is as strong as ever, and charitable works abound in all parts of the globe. No organization comes close to the Catholic Church in terms of good works, charity, and helping people and communities in countless ways. That's a fact. That's probably why the devil has been so busy attacking the church lately.
