from last night: Moderator: "And so right now, we're 30 minutes in. Going to jump back into the topics and continue our discussion of national issues on the domestic level. The issue that is really number one on the minds of many voters, that's the economy and jobs.So let's start here with Senator Graham. Graham: After a short comparison of Hillary to Barack Obama for some reason and calling her a liar.... "Do we all agree that ISIL is not the JV team? If I have to monitor a mosque, I'll monitor a mosque. If I have to take down a cyber wall, I'll take it. If I have to send more American troops to protect us here, I will do it. [Hillary] will not. She has empowered a failed agenda. She is going to empower a failed solution to an American economy dying to grow." ummm what?
100% phony that Rubio guy is. He hasn't done a damn thing for Florida and doesn't believe in anything. Flip flops based on polls and what the nation's mood is. The worst kind of politician. At least the other 9 guys on stage actually believe in what they are saying (even if some of them are outlandish views from my perspective).
If you are looking for experience and the willingness to work with the Dems he has it. In other words to be able to compromise and have a workable administration. Something Cruz doesn't seem to be interested in doing. But he's also starting to talk like a politician. I'm not supporting Graham I just think he's your best candidate.
I wouldn't lend him the keys to my worst car, you want to give him the keys of state for four years because he has brass balls? What's that about weeping for the children?
Perhaps this is painting with too broad a brush, since there are probably one or two GOP candidates who, if being truthful, would acknowledge being uncomfortable with this. But like one of the posters on this thread, the GOP voters seem to think being presidential is all about being the biggest dickhead in the room. As if being reasonable, making fact based arguments, is a bad thing. The party has gone off the deep end, encouraging science deniers, advising we follow free market fundamentalist economic policies that led to the Great Recession, think it's a good thing if the government is shut down. Oppose the ExIm Bank because it involves government action. Won't raise the gas tax for the first time in forever while roads and bridges are crumbling - Reagan raised hte gas tax. At this point Reagan could probably not win their nomination. All that doesn't matter to a large group of stupid white people who are more concerned about "them" getting something, anything. And of coures don't touch my guns because I have to have something since my penis is shrinking. What a fiasco. The Dems have their issues to be sure, but really? Debates like last night are like gladiators without swords, let the biggest asshole win.
I can only imagine how much outrage there would have been if a similar post was made about the democrat party and instead of stupid white people it referred to stupid black people. There would have been several posts already and likely a banned user. But it's republicans that are the racists. Look at all the hypocritical sheep sitting by not saying a word or even worse, liking the racist comment. Can't say I'm surprised. I think you'd fare quite well in the competition described, btw.
I am white myself, so I don't consider my comment at all racist. I love white people. I love all people. I just think if you deny that "stupid" (meaning uninformed, making bad decisions) white people are a huge part of the GOP base right now, you are either uninformed or in denial. But go ahead and attack me rather than acknowledge the biggest dickhead is the winner argument. You know I am right. Best to change that subject.
Did you even watch the debate? The biggest asshole (trump) likely dug his own grave last night. I'm sure there are plenty of stupid people on both sides.
I've got to say that I don't think I have even been so down as far as what is laid out in front of us from either party. There is not one candidate who even comes close to stepping out from the pack. But this is to be expected, it has gone one for so long that the whole brood is infected and the only cure is to destroy the entire lot and start from scratch. That likely wouldn't help though since the system has been so perverted over the years. The politicians with their hands out turn around and scratch the back of the big cat donors as soon as they hit office. And the first person here that makes a comment about it being X party that does it, should be strung up because if you can't see that it is prevalent through out each party then you are completely blind. I think one solution may be some form of public subsidy to finance the parties funded by a corporate tax. This could fund equally say 4 parties giving chance of a more balanced representation in government while taking the power out of the hands of corporations. That is true campaign finance reform not these weak bills that get passed every 8-10 years. I realize this is not the topic of the thread but how often do we have these threads with no one ever being convinced by the other side that maybe they are right. We are all just wasting our breath while the same old keeps going on in DC.
Everyone knew Trump was an asshole years ago. That didnt' stop him from leading the polls. What hurt him last night was not beign an asshole. It was refusing to say he would not run as an independent. The point remains that GOP voters seem to prefer nasty candidates. It's not just Trump. Christie is literally proud of being an asshole. Even other GOP senators think Cruz is an asshole. I could go on, but the point is it is not limited to Trump by any means.
Meh. The field is just too big. It will get cut down considerably. Then you will see more meat on the bones. Not that I expect you'll like what you hear, but you'll at least hear more substance.
I disagree. Trump proved himself to be a windbag with no ability to discuss the issues when pushed for details. I'm sure a lot already assumed that would happen, I know I figured it would, but last night had to be the nail, and not because of his refusal to pledge to not do an independent run. People already knew he was threatening that anyway. had he gone out and been able to address the questions with some depth he probably would have taken another big jumo in the polls despite not pledging. obviously just my opinion. Trump was leading the polls because he was the only one willing to speak the truth and not quivering in fear of what the liberal media might say about it. It was a good thing for the process, hopefully it stiffened some spines on the right. Now he can go away. You didn't watch, did you?
Rubio is a cock smoker he either doesn't know it yet or is still in the closet. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
Rubio has too many questionable financial issues, small amounts in the grand scheme of things but any amount is too much
As a stinking Muslim, I never vote for Republicans. But she is someone I can vote for. Not sure if you are kidding or not but she was impressive yesterday and she nailed it today on her interview on Fox News. Really didn't know her until yesterday but she is now my choice.
The whites are the Repub base. They get slaughtered in minority communities. And because of that they have done whatever possible on a state, local, fed level to stop minorities from voting. Yeah, the GOP are the racists. True story.
