Yes I do. I liked them better when they had the old school symmetrical shoulder stripes ( as opposed to current broadening middle stripe). And I like their color scheme, it's unique, although I don't care for their black jerseys. Prefer they stay with the Carolina Blue/White options.
Wow see I'm the opposite. I've always rooted for the Panthers in the NFC ever since they played the Pats in the SB. I love their color scheme, but I definitely like the black jerseys. The black with the Carolina blue, white, and grey accents makes it look nice imo. I like the Carolina blue jerseys too but I think they're starting to look tacky to me now lol.
I hear ya, but I like their color scheme absent the black jerseys. Half the teams in the league have a black jersey (predominant or alternant). No one other than the Panthers has Carolina Blue (Chargers powder blue comes close). I like the uniqueness of Carolina's color scheme. I thought it was a bad idea when NEP went from red to navy blue (another predominant NFL color), but in a historical perspective, calling yourself the Patriots and dressing like the "red coats" that you fought against made less sense.
wow, I cant stand the silver pants or silver helmets. the all white uniform minus the helmet is ok, the rest minus the helmet and silver pants are good but those silver helmets and pants annoy the heck out of me. that and the logo is just absolutely terrible. never liked it and am amazed they haven't changed it up to this point. I guess different strokes for different folks.
Is there any teams in the league that completely change the color of the helmet for throwbacks ? Pats I think ? Maybe GB ? Seeing other teams pull it off makes me hopeful we can get these 80s uni's off the ground. I know you old grumps hate them but I really just want to see my team actually play in them instead of just pictures. I'm sure they will look better with the modern nike fit jersey
I see no reason why they couldn't do the 80s logo in green on the white helmets. its not perfect but might be like the buffalo throwbacks they did a few years ago and make people realize something different looks good.
No team does it. Pats stopped using the white helmet with Pat the Patriot on it a few years back when the helmet rule was put in place. Same with teams like the Jets and Steelers (no more yellow helmet). Bills, Rams, Skins and a few more can do it because they just peel off and exchange the logos I guess.
Yeah especially if they have that really groovy 3 color palette- Kelly green, olive drab and forest green like the current shit Nike has us in. Why in the hell would you put different colored panels on a jersey? _
Looks ugly, plus it makes it harder for the preteens in China and Malaysia to have to piece together that junk. When you are working 18 hour days sewing the last thing you wanna do is switch color panels
I'm an old fart too, and even though I can understand your rationale, I disagree. I much prefer the Kelly Green '80s unis to what the Jets are wearing now. I also hate the Panthers unis. I think their colors and unis are awful. The only team I think is worse is Tennessee.
I completely agree. You guys don't realize the 80's throwback will not entirely resemble the 80's uniform. These are nike jerseys. Much tighter fit and it won't look like the ugly loose jerseys. Don't imagine this... Imagine this...
jetsruby that's a 90s uniform. there was something about that Kelly green and white that just popped even without the black accents.
It doesn't really make sense to apply decals to the entire helmets for one game only to remove them a week later... one or two per helmet is already arduous enough, doing the entire helmet seems downright unnecessary. Not to mention, with how detailed the NFL is with their uniform policies, who'd be surprised if there were restrictions on the amount of decals you can use. This ruins the idea of an 80's throwback, but what we should really do is have the 68 uniform as our throwback. It's not super different so it won't excite people as much as the 80s, but with the old helmet logo and minor changes it would honor the winning team and people would probably get excited about it when it actually happened. I'm up for an actual uniform change, although I have to admit, I'm a really big fan of our all-whites.
