And the Diamondbacks tied it up with the NATS!!! Lets go boys! Gotta win this one tonight. Could be a huge night since Scherzer was on the mound for Washington
He's been so horrible for years. Id love to see how he matches up against other umps in terms of pitchers stats The only good thing about him is he's consistently horrible against both teams
I can see that. Whew.. Thought TC was going off the deep end.. I would have thought he and Duda would switch to protect each other depending on either a lefty or a right was starting.
They showed stats before that Cespedes is actually not that great of a hitter against lefties .330 against righties but like .150 against lefties. Terry could've just as easily put Uribe at 2 though.
Terry is not a good manager, he was fortunate that it worked out the way it did. You have to let Wilmer hit with nobody out and Tejada and a PH coming up. By the way I did not know that the mets were the second worst pinch hitting team in baseball. Which made it an even worse decision by TC to bunt with Wilmer.
Mets made another trade? Wow Lefty specialist Eric O'Flaherty from the A's. Hopefully this is the last of either Parnell or A.Torres
Well part of that is just because their 'lead' bench guy was Mayberry for more than half a season and he isn't even on the roster now lol
Very good , and with Torres gone now the Mets have patched another hole in the bullpen. I just don't want to see fucking Parnell at all in September. Guy is shot. You have to think Niese will be moved to the pen if this team makes the postseason but honestly the way he has pitched lately outside of the Cardinals game he is making a case to stay in the rotation.
Parnell sucks. Even before the TJ surgery he was a one trick pony. But he was the "best" we had at the time so it was necessary to have him in there. Its really too bad Meija is such a dummy otherwise this pen would be a pretty solid strength. Robles has been money as of late though. Id like to see him get the 7th inning role. Niese could be an option for the pen eventually. Same with Matz when he gets back. As well as Niese has pitched Id probably have to go with Colon over him if one had to pitch in a potential postseason game. Thats looking far ahead though. I also heard that Blevins was throwing from 100 feet a couple of days ago so hopefully we eventually get him back too. Too much positive news going on around the Mets these days. Im just waiting for the hammer to drop lol.
O'Flaherty wasn't having a good year for the A's. And a lot of walks. But one thing statistically he was doing very well. Getting out lefties. So he's going to be a one trick pony himself. Being brought in for one or two batters. But if he walks people they aren't going to use him. He was a good set up man with the Braves two years ago. Sandy got back some money too.
I'm not a Sandy fan but he's done a great job these last 2 weeks. And the Gomez fiasco turned out good because they got a better player. You got to give him credit for cutting Torres a player he traded for. So he's capable of admitting he's wrong and trying to fix a mistake.
