Brandon Marshall getting some work on his own, on a side field, working with catching balls one-handed from Jugs machine. #Jets
NFL Network is covering the Jets right now. Live at practice. QB's just taking snaps and doing some accuracy drills. Dodge a big ball after dropping back, stepping up and trying to hit a certain target. Geno was spot on. Petty missed, got pretty upset, kicked the ball back. Love the fire!
We actually had him in for a tryout in May. He's already at practice, maybe he'll show us something. Sounds like a David Nelson type of guy.
Pretty neat. Alumni day for Jets: 48 former players in attendance, everyone from Mark Gastineau to Al Toon to Wesley Walker.
Yeah but it never seemed he was the first or second guy we targeted. I didn't realize he had the most catches and yards- I guess the lack of TDs stuck in my mind. Shows how bad we were on offense, or rather how much we depend on our running game. _
Devin Smith already back (not on the field obviously, out of hospital), laughing on the sideline. "Moving slowly" (no shit?).
Devin Smith is on the sidelines today standing next to the offensive coaches. Good to hear. At least he can get the mental reps and hear feedback.
I disagree, although I believe Powell is a good receiving RB. To me Stacy is just more fluid, more of a natural receiver than Powell. I also like that Stacy is like a bowling ball, low center of gravity and thick legs as a ball carrier. I can see him becoming the primary back at some point. Having to play against him I'm thinking Bowles had a big influence in obtaining him.
Here we go! Real drills are starting now. QB's taking handoffs and tossing to receivers (offense only)
Petty leads his receivers a bit too much, probably an anticipation thing. He doesn't know them yet. Geno always seems to be underthrowing a little, otherwise pretty accurate so far.
Fans shout to Brandon Marshall "who's better, Cutler, or Geno?" Marshall points to the Jets logo on his head.
This live practice on NFLN is so much better than the one the Jets broadcasted. Geno looks a lot sharper than Fitz in these WR vs DB drills. Great competition between Revis and Marshall; fade route to the back corner of the end zone and Revis batted it away perfectly.
