This is so strange...my only thought is that a deal was done and Wheeler's medicals didn't check out. Which now takes a piece off the table that we could use to trade

Wtf Sandy is on SNY saying the deal is dead.

I saw a headline that said the Tigers have again decided to "reboot" and are fielding offers. Cespedes anyone?

I would guess the Brewers panicked with Wheeler's timeframe and pulled out last second. Sandy looks bummed out.

Man the Mets have some dudes from the stone age managing their front office.

If Wheeler's records are the problem the Brewers could always have Niese and another minor leaguer instead.

Still too much traction here for a deal not to get done.

That could be it. Sandy said after the game no deal now and no deal ever. But no comment after that. Terry's presser on SNY was one of the wildest I ever saw. He was pissed and said he knew nothing about the deal and had to be bleeped about a dozen times. He said nobody (ie Sandy) told him anything about it.

Well, now I hope Wilmer destroys the rest of this season. I know he won't. But I would love nothing more than to see him really take off now. He will be everybody's favorite Met.

What happens if the next team we talk to want Flores. Would bad PR stop the Mets form making the deal? I'm over thinking this.

These writers should worry more about getting it right, than being in a rush to report stuff first. You had every beat writer saying the same thing. What are we as fans suppose to think? I can't remember a time something this widely reported ending the way that this did.

Reportedly the Brewers wanted Herrera but the Mets said no and the Brewers settled for Flores.
