Then why were two ball boys fired? Surely if they did nothing wrong the great Patriots organization would have stood behind them and made sure they were well taken care of for helping to clear your name.
Good to see you believe Roger "I lied in the Ray Rice decision" Goddell over Tom Brady. Your bias knows no bounds.
I don't understand your logic here. If you fire people outright, they have no incentive to keep all the dirty laundry quiet. It would be more damning if they were still on the payroll and stonewalling.
Bias? I'm sorry but have the Pats ever given me a reason to believe them? Did they not get busted for Spygate? Is that just a figment of my imagination? Maybe but I'm guessing they had to sign some sort of confidentiality clause and that doesn't answer the question that if nobody did anything wrong why were they terminated?
Ok let's address the absolute bullshit about him replacing his broken Samsung with a new iPhone 6. I have 5 cell phones in my family, mine and each of my 4 kids. We've replaced literally dozens of phones over the years. You know where all those old phones are? Most are sitting in a box in a closet in my basement. Some I use as iTouches for music because while they no longer have data capability, they still have wifi and I use them for Pandora. What I DON'T do with my old or broken or obsolete phones is DESTROY them. Was is burning a hole in his pocket? Does he not have a kitchen cabinet drawer where he keeps spare keys and change and old phones? Is his house so cramped he HAD to get it out of the house to make room for the monstrously big iPhone 6? Has anyone here ever had their old phone DESTROYED immediately upon getting a replacement phone? To what end? For what purpose? It begs credulity. In an otherwise ocean of incredulity. _
This is the key. Pats fans think that Brady is fighting this since they think he's merely seeking vindication. And in fact a more reasonable approach for him if he was guilty in his own mind would have been to give them the cell phone back in March, let the investigation and ruling proceed, and then to say he accepted that result but disagreed with the conclusion. I think he already had an asterisk on his career due to the Spygate scandal, so he was never going to completely be clear of the stink of being a cheater. But if he had cooperated, at least he would have lessened the damage. But... even if he felt he was innocent, which I think is ridiculous given all that was clearly going on from the known facts, and you as a Pats fan see him as believing he is innocent, you can't get by the cell phone destruction. This is where the arrogance comes in. Brady and the Pats are not above the league. Without the NFL, there is no Pats team, and there is no job, no public persona, for Tom Brady. The NFL can make all the mistakes it has made and then some, but that does not give Brady the right to say and act like he is above the league, and has no responsibility to it. This scandal may seem relatively small compared to say playing to lose a game to win a gambling bet or something. But it indisputably goes to the integrity of the game, and it should be beyond question that the league not only had the right to conduct the investigation, but that once it commenced the investigation, Tom Brady could not see himself as being above the league. But that's what Tom Brady did - his arrogance and impudence were so great they are what makes his behavior understandable. He thought he could brazen it out, and that the league would fold in the face of his hard line position, even including the destruction of evidence. I frankly don't see him really overcoming this. Sure he may play more, even play well. but his reputation is ruined.
Kind of contradicts his assertion that his common practice is to destroy his old phone upon getting a new one. Oh, that's going to be a tough one to explain to a judge. _
lol at this Kraft presser, he's basically admitting he expected a quid pro quo on reducing Brady's suspension after dropping his appeal and now regrets dropping the appeal
Kraft just rebutted everything, said he was wrong to agree to the punishment and wrong to trust the league. Wow, the arrogant prideful asshats they are....... Time to declare NEP a rogue franchise
This Kraft press conference is pretty comical. For someone who thinks he never gets lied to , he sure gets lied to a lot.
It's just such a perfect sidelight to the start of camps. Pats fans squirming once again as their "championship" falls under the cloud of a stink that can't be washed away. _
The smart move would be for the PATs to just drop it and move on. But if they feel they need to fight on and make an even bigger mockery of themselves (like that's even possible), more power to them. Cheating a$$ losers.
Belichick to a reporter: "check your notes." They win (and yes, that's what counts) but the Patriots have no class. They were caught (the NFL is not the judicial system--the level of requisite evidence is whatever the Commissioner says it is). Shut up, take your punishment, and move on.
