I agree, Jaiquawn Jarrett is the better safety and will make the roster over Miles. Gilchrist Jarrett Pryor Allen That's 4 safeties
If the Jets are moving Amaro to H-back, which it seems they are, then there's no pass-catching FB position on the roster. That's what the H-back does. Amaro is the H-back and Sheldon Richardson is the goal-line lead blocker. What else do the Jets need in a spread offense? Ivory is already a pounder at halfback. They've got everything covered without keeping a FB.
I agree but I'm not using Richardson on the goal line, and I don't think Bowles/Gailey will either. Let one of the other fat hogs hop in there, or report Dozier as eligible. Unless they want to sabotage Richardson's contract extension with an injury there's no way I'm wasting his effort in goal line packages when they're about to hop on defense.
I'm hoping its Pace that gets cut and IK making the final 53. I think Rex had too much loyalty to these old farts. Its time to develop some youngins and move on from the old bums.
Mind explaining to me how IK is like Michael Sam? I think IK looked much better in limited snaps then Michael Sam ever did at this level. IK is already good on special teams as well. I think you are talking about Jason Babin.
Sure, I don't mind. A one dimensional pass rusher, basically a bull rusher. He's great at that, appears unstoppable maybe. As stiff as it gets tho. Maybe he'll set the edge, maybe. Similar in body too. A 'tweener that I don't see as an OLB. Gotta be ST demon to make it imo. An Izdick joint as well. I don't dislike him but I'll side with Semeni on this. We'll see.
He's no doubt a situational pass-rusher, and plays with his hair on fire all of the time, IK could be developed - especially pass-rush moves other then his powerful bull-rush. I'd rather keep the young guy that can play special teams over a Jason Babin.
I like him. Maybe he's the last guy. As a situational PR he could be tough. He barely saw the field last year tho. But if Mauldin shows up big, and Reilly[who plays ST] plays well idk.
Can't go wrong with Maudlin, IK and Reilly right? Special teams needs to get better anyway. 3 young players, that will compete and get better. Here's some info on IK last season. http://nyjdraftcentral.com/2015/05/new-york-jets-2015-breakout-star-ik-enemkpali/
So cimini has pace and babib on the 53 here but in his lb preview he calls it a mild surprise if they keep them both.
You expect him to remember what he wrote in his preview or be consistent? ;-) We all know he just makes shit up as he goes along. In his roster projection article that is in the OP, he has the Jets keeping 9 LBers: David Harris, Calvin Pace, Demario Davis, Quinton Coples, Lorenzo Mauldin, Jason Babin, Jamari Lattimore, Trevor Reilly and Erin Henderson. In his article entitled, "Jets LB preview: Solid across the board, but unit needs breakout star", he has the Jets keeping only 8, with Erin Henderson being the odd man out on the bubble. Then he goes on to call him a "wild card" and says, "If he can stay sober and regain his old form, the Jets will have an experienced inside linebacker to back up Harris and Davis." as if he thinks he makes the team. If nothing else is editorial skills and writing skills are lacking. He's wrong more than he's right, and I think he's basically a lazy hack. I've seen little or nothing that showed any original thought, any in-depth research, or creativity.
My wishlist (nothing against any player in particular) Bohanon is gone..possibly no FB Posey beats out graham Cumberland gets cut for saxton. Amaro is #1. Kellen Davis is blocking TE. Colon gets cut. Not sure who the winner is but I think it will happen. Babin and Pace get cut.
No way pace and babin get cut. Not enough trustworthy experience behind both of them. I'd bet babin is gone if anyone shows promise. posey is only here if they keep 6 wrs, graham or osuwa will be returner and wr5. My moneys on osuwa. colon is a maybe, i think he will stay though. Bohanon is 50/50
agreed on babin and pace...I have a pipe dream that coples replaces pace and then it all falls in place for one of the young guys to supplant babin.
I'd be very happy with #1. #2 I don't care which young WR steps up and proves worth keeping, I just hope that one of them does. I'd love it if #3 happens, but would be a bit surprised. With regards to #4 I think it will be very interesting. I can see Colon starting, I can see him kept as a backup to mentor the young OL, and I can also see him getting cut if a couple of the young OGs really show their stuff in TC. #5 I will be pretty shocked if both Babin and Pace get cut, but wouldn't hate it as long as Mauldin and Reilly have clearly demonstrated that they can handle their positions. You wouldn't even want Colon kept as a backup and to mentor the young OGs?
There not gonna cut there only servicable fullback on the roster there's plenty of plays that require a real fullback in the passing game
