Because i do not criticize Jets that are in the hall that is why. I also do not defend Tebow above all else.
I never defended TT except saying he never got a chance with the NYJ. Again just my opinion but it doesn't disqualify me from being a Jets fan which btw is not something to brag about. I just love you hard heads who say if you don't agree with them you're either a blankety blank or a troll. Anyways who died and made you King?
Was doing some googling, check out the bomb to Caster at 5:20. (Glen Campbell and Apollo 17 also worth watching.)
Even though this is directed at a dead man it is 1000% spot on. 1000% No reason to have him on ignore anymore. He is gone. Hating on Namath should strip any supposed Jets fan of any rights you have to post on a Jets board. _
For all you kids out there, I might direct your attention to the performance of Steve Tannen, number 21, the Jets first round pick in 1970 in the clip above. He got beaten like the proverbial red-headed stepchild on a weekly basis and the few bits of him here were not an exception, but the rule. He was later diagnosed with "slipitis" because on a regular basis he could be found fifteen yards behind a big completion flat on his ass. Sitting in windy, cold Shea Stadium, some on hard wooden bleachers, watching games slip away due to such performances built character as it weeded out the fair-weather fans. It's never been easy to be a Jets fan and I wouldn't have it any other way. Well maybe except for a few more playoff wins and a couple more Super Bowls.
I never said he wasn't a Jet all time great. In fact I've never bashed the guy just spoke my opinion. Yes I am a Geno fan but I'm a Jets fan first. If Geno doesn't get get his act together this season he needs to go.
Tannen was a symbol of the beginning of the downfall of the franchise, arguably the worst 1st round pick we ever had
What? How do you know? Did he quit? Banned again? Permanently, I hope!?!?!?!?! I agree. Anyone who claims to be a Jets fan is not going to hate on the one player that has brought our franchise more glory and fame than anyone else.
I will take some blame for Junc not being here. Sorry...I wouldnt stop with him when he lied about certain posts. I know there are at least several others who went at with him the past few weeks...but I couldnt take it anymore. ME: You really think deflating footballs is a small deal? JUNC: If you think the Pats beat the Colts because of footballs with less pressure...I feel very sorry for you. ME: HUH? How did you just do that? It was on from there...I couldnt let it go...it was junc at his best. And for the record...I have been on this site for 11 years..and NEVER reported any lunatic that has ever graced these pages..ever. I did report him in that thread. Sorry...but if you have been with him over a decade, you might do the same.
I remember that game. I was trying to stay up to watch the end and my mom was not having any of it. I remember it was a big deal when Hubbard went over 1,000 yards because the Jets had never had a 1,000 yard rusher. Riggins was the first guy to do it in 1975.
Oh, somewhere in this favored land the sun is shining bright; the band is playing somewhere, and somewhere hearts are light, and somewhere men are laughing, and somewhere children shout; now there is joy in Jetsville — the wacko Juncman has checked out.
