We reloaded, we didn't rebuild at all. We spent a shit ton of money in FA, made trades to become competitive. We revamped the secondary, acquired more weapons, we didn't really blow anything up cept for the inept coaching staff and FO. Plus, you may want to read my entire post.
4-12 was a result of Smith's play and having an awful secondary. The secondary has been fixed. If Qb could be fixed, this could definitely be a playoff team. In other words the Jets went 4-12 despite having some very talented core players. Those remain at present to be Mangold, Ferguson, the DL starters, some would say Harris, and I would add above average talent in Ivory and Decker. The DL will be covered 3 years out, most likely, and we can reasonably hope that players like Davis will continue to improve. The CB's added in FA will be 3 years older, as will Marshall. The Jets will not have to replace everyone at once, to be sure, but I do think it will be difficult to replace with equal talent Ferguson, Mangold, Harris, at least one starting Cb, and possibly Marshall all while the Jets continue their Qb search.
This post in some ways sum up why the Jets haven't won shit since Lyndon Johnson was president. It's always these short windows that we give ourselves to win a ring. Why can't we just have the patience for once to build for long term stability? But anyway Imo unless Geno implodes he'll get the first 4 weeks, which imo we should be sitting at 2-2.
With our new a improved D, all Geno has to do is get 20 yards and 3 pts and we win every game! So I'm thinking we go 9-7 and squeak in
Browns Colts Eagles Dolphins I know we are weak at QB, but this isn't the toughest first four weeks in a row. Colts will be a rough one but Browns and Eagles aren't to be feared.
I'm not talking as if it's set in stone that we'll be 2-2, but I do think we have enough to beat the Browns and Eagles at home. Colts will be a tough one but not unbeatable and I have us losing to the Dolphins in Europe.
Wouldn't mind 2-2 to start the year at all, but if we lose 2 games - let one be to the Eagles, the NFC team. We need to start winning more conference games. That was our problem the last 2 seasons. I think a bunch of teams started 2-2 last season; and ended up making the playoffs
While we're 0-9 against the Eagles in the regular season and every game matters the one against an NFC team is still the least important game of the first 4. Still embarrassing we've yet to beat them.
i don't think it has much to do with the rcord as his performance if genos leading scoring drives and not turning the ball over he will continue to be the qb1 if he is going 3 and out or giving the ball up he won't. same will go for fitz if he gets a shot. if petty has to come in theres a chance he just plays out the string since the other 2 at that point will be done as jets. but at that point , who would care?
The Dolphins game will depend on Geno correctly setting his watch and showing up on time. LOL!!!!!!!!! Eagles won't be in a Super Bowl any time soon.
If you are going to try and be a smart ass first you have to be smart so I guess that will never happen. You are the person who stated "If Fitz comes out and lights it up in the preseason", yet you now keep saying he never could light it up. We would not be having this conversation had you not talked about Fitz lighting it up in the first place. Get your shit straight dumbass.
It took you that long to come up with that? I can see you now in your mothers basement just begging for Internet intention. But seriously quit hijacking the thread argue with your imaginary friends off the internet.
Took me that long? Sorry but I don't hang on your every word since most of what comes out of your keyboard is shit. You really do suck at this, you are unoriginal, unfunny and just make no sense at all. By the way someone "begging for Internet intention" (shouldn't that be attention dumb ass?) as you put it would be one who just hangs over their keyboard waiting for a post to come through just so they can reply within seconds, you know just like you did. Address this moron, Or is it that you can't so you are going to go with the same tired insults a 10 year old would throw around? If you are going to go with the bash to get away from answering routine at least make them original and funny. So far you are failing on all levels.
We've got some very positive and very negative comments about Geno today. '[Adam] Schefter had this to say about the Jets' No. 1 quarterback: "I think there are some encouraging signs. There are some people I have spoken with who have spent some time with Geno this offseason. They say that he’s a different guy and that a light has gone off. That he’s really looked like an effective quarterback." All encouraging words for Jets fans to hear, but it certainly doesn't mean Smith will be a Pro Bowl quarterback this season -- or ever, for that matter. Schefter does believe that new offensive coordinator, Chan Gailey, will have positive impact on Smith's game this season. "I happen to think that he’s going to look pretty good under Chan Gailey this year, their new offensive coordinator," Schefter said.' http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/adam-schefter-sees-encouraging-signs-in-geno-smith-072015 Also, a poll of NFL Insiders again ranked Geno as the worst starting QB in the NFL, but: "It wasn't all bad for Smith, among the voters, as Sando notes: Two of the higher-profile offensive coaches in the league accounted for two of the three highest votes for Smith. "When I watch Geno play, where are the base plays?" one of these coaches said. "To make the quarterback successful, you do not run more exotic scheme. Geno has run an offense that is trying to win with scheme. I see a guy who has talent, but he has not been coached like a quarterback. I think you have to give him a [Tier] 3 based on that." The other offensive coach said the 2014 Jets "ran every play in the history of football" at the expense of those base plays a young quarterback needs to rely upon in a pinch. Both coaches used the word "incomplete" when describing Smith." http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2015/07/jets_geno_smith_again_ranks_as_nfls_worst_quarterb.html
