Best= Vinny T. Worst= Steve White--he is so bad nobody probably remembers him but he got a decent contract to join the jets and produced squat.
I do remember him, I don't remember what kind of deal he got. I don't recall it being a big deal but I could be wrong.
4 yr 7.5 mil incentive laden contract. http://www.nytimes.com/2002/03/08/s...s-add-steve-white-as-retooling-continues.html Dave Williams and Neil O'Donnell were horrible FA signings. Add to the list Jeff Graham and Webster Slaughter
Incentive laden tells me it wasn't a big deal. he obviously didn't hit those incentives and we probably didn't pay him much. the worst FA signings are the ones w/ high guaranteed dollars that can hurt your cap. Williams and O'Donnell I agree, Graham was good for us briefly. I felt he was underutilized here and Slaughter was a low cost, off the street FA on a really bad team.
Most people forget him because he was cut so quickly but Dexter Carter was a terrible FA signing, guy was absolutely terrible.
Dexter was brought on to be a leader from a winning SF organization, he was a disaster. Great guest on the Howard Stern show though, he used to speak the truth weekly when talking to Howard at the time
signed a 3 year deal here after winning the SB with San Fran. Only ended up played 10 games with the Jets, fumbling 7 times before getting cut midseason and signing back with San Fran
Now you are going way back.... those early 90's Stern Shows were pretty wild. I even remember his TV show ....was it on WWOR?
