Agree completely, but I admit fantasizing about how awesome it would've been if the ref said "The game ball has been deflated below legal limits and we know Brady was behind it all. Number 12 is EJECTED."

Up until the point that Brett was exonerated, and the Royals actually went on to win that game.

Based on the verifiable data available, I'd think they'd resume the second half of the AFCCG and SB with underinflated balls!

Goodell's been checkmated and doesn't know what to do. The Hardy thing's basically forcing him to reduce his suspension and the courts'll probably wipe out any suspension at all, and the NFL will look like buffoons once again.

The optics of leaving Brady's suspension at 4 while Hardy only gets 4 for something a 'lot' more heinous would be horrible. And the NFL is definitely motivated by PR, they already took a beating on the initial Brady suspension when people wanted to compare it to the initial Ray Rice suspension.

Whatever early game he plays in hopefully he gets KO'd. He'll think about that shit for a long time.

Some people aren't smart enough to understand the fundamental difference between the two offenses. Is Goodell going to base his decision on how he believes fools will see it? Hopefully not.

They're not related but Roger could be using one to set up the other. That's what I thought when I first heard of the Hardy cut in games suspended. And the timing involved in it. Incomprehensible that Roger doesn't know what the decision is or that his calendar is too busy for him to announce it. One theory I heard on this is that the NFL office is going to wait until training camp because they think the longer they wait the least amount of resistance from the Brady contingent. I don't understand that thinking but he did announce recently the decision is coming down very soon.

The difference is as disgusting as what Hardy did it was something done off the field and he was never found guilty in a court of law. Brady on the other hand attempted to circumvent rules to gain an unfair competitive advantage on the field or cheat. If we allow the Federal Government to reduce the suspension of someone who did something that technically should be a fireable offense in the workplace all businesses could see the proverbial pandoras box opened. Personally I'm in favor of the league policing itself especially in regards to matters that actually involve gameplay. As far as stuff off the field.... well slippery slope but what Brady and in a civil trial would have been found guilty of was cheating to win. That should not be acceptable and the league should have the ability to handle this matter internally.

Hardy WAS found guilty in a court of law, it was only on appeal it was dropped when the woman suddenly decided not to testify during the appeal and settled.

Yes he was. He appealed and paid the woman off to not show up.
