Archie Manning is a stud horse with super QB sperm. That is about where his value ends. Considering that Peyton went back to school after not getting his way and Eli refused to play for San Diego I think honor is in short supply in the Manning household.
we are still searching for Keyshawn's replacement, we have never replaced him. Marshall may finally fill that role. Moss was a great pick, the mistake was trading him for Coles in '05. we gave up Key and the Key trade did work out but we still gave away a top WR to do so and BB didn't want to stay b/c of BP. He cost us Manning, he cost us BB and may have cost us Brady. the draft by itself was good(I would hope so w/ 4 1st rounders though we only saw 1 all pro selection and a grand total of 5 pro bowls and 2 playoff wins w/ all 4) but factoring in losing Key and losing BB it was not good. Belichick led a dynasty, Key won a SB and we got 2 playoff wins where all 4 were playing(6 if you coun the 4 Ellis won after the other 3 were gone). Key alone won 3 in Tampa, BB has 21 in NE and we got 2 w/ all 4 guys. How is this a success?
I love Archie-- he was one of the first Sports Illustrated covers I remember as a kid when he was at Ole Miss. He's a great dad. He seems like a great person. But behind that "aw shucks" facade--Archie Manning has ONE loyalty--to the Manning Brand. He doesn't give a shit about the Giants or the San Diego Chargers or Indy or Denver or the Jets or Bill Parcells or anyone. He cares ONLY about protecting that franchise--the Manning Name and Legacy. I wouldn't listen to two words out of his mouth about what happened back when the Jets were courting Peyton. _
and playing for a future HOF coach in the #1 market would have been bad for the Manning name and legacy?
Newsflash genius but if Parcells doesn't come here Belechick doesn't either. The only thing Bill Parcells cost us was to continue losing tons of games as we continued on the Cosell/Kotite formula for success.
ok and if BP would have just stepped away and allowed BP to run his show like it was planned then BP isn't secretly working out new deals w/ NE. Parcells is one of the best coaches in pro football history, not so much as a GM type.

Belichick was working out secret deals with NE because he is a sleazy, lying weasel. Bill Parcells had little if anything to do with it. Please just get that through your incredibly thick skull.
stop w/ the childish attacks please. he was doing a Parcells style side deal b/c Parcells was going to be hovering over him.
Kraft started recruiting Belichick WAY before that offseason. That deal was getting done with or without Parcells presence. I'll see if I can find the article. _
he was talking w/ Kraft before he was elevated to HC of the Jets as Parcells never let him know he was stepping down even though BP knew and BB wanted a HC job. Had BP kept him in the loop BB would have been NYJ HC and more than likely Brady would have been here and you guys would be bashing those bashing BB and Brady today as they would have been doing it for the Jets.
