Talking our both sides of your ass and you know it.

I guess this is the best TGG could hope for for ever getting an admission of error.

just read the posts and you will find your answer. you are just trolling to deflect from having to admit you were wrong on BP.

So the best five signings in Jets free agent history were:

    Kevin Mawae (Parcells)
    Curtis Martin RFA (Parcells)
    Jumbo Elliot (Dick Steinberg)
    Vinny Testaverde (Parcells)
    Damian Woody (Mike Tannenbaum)

Yet somehow Bill Parcells is supposed to be a bad GM.

The NFL took away one pick in each of the first four rounds of the draft, we lost another first and third for Curtis Martin yet Bill Parcells got us the best four year draft results we ever had with the exception of the NY sack exchange in the late 1970s yet he is somehow bad at drafting too.

Throw in the fact that the guy can coach in his sleep and brought a dream team of assistant coaches with him and I would say we were damn lucky the guy agreed to come here.

Great coach, mediocre GM type. it's why he failed in Miami and succeeded everywhere else.

Bill Parcells "ran" Keyshawn Johnson--one of our best WRs--"out of town".

Oh, wait a minute--no he didn't, Al Groh did.

But Parcells let Groh "take the bullets" for Parcells running Key out of town.

But if it was Groh who ran him out of town, why criticize Parcells for that? What bullets did he deserve?

did I criticize Parcells for Key? just using the logic that if BO was running everything as you say then he gets blame for Key too.

the bottom line is this, no matter who was running things(BP is so honorable he would never lie which is why he couldn't tell Manning he was 100% going to take him so we know he wouldn't lie about Groh having power) we turned a top 3 WR in team history and a potential HC into zero SB apps while the guys we got rid of won 5 and counting but yeah great job. Thanks GM Bill!

Btw, I don't think he was a great GM. He was awful in those early drafts.

I just think it's borne out of an unnatural and visceral hate for the guy that you wouldn't give him credi for any good he did as a GM like the 2000 draft.

Ahhhhh the duplicitous backtrack I was expecting.

Could have just admitted it yesterday and the hijack would have ended.

But it's what you are compelled to do.

I LOVE BP for what he did, I was at EVERY SINGLE GAME in the Coslet/Carroll/Kotite era. no matter what the weather, no matter what the record I was there so I appreciate BP turning the franchise around.

as far the 2000 draft, it was a good draft but when you factor in what we gave up I don't see how it can be celebrated no matter who was in charge.

Bill Parcells would lie to his mother if it meant getting an advantage.

    Holy crap.

There is no celebration, just an acknowledgment that for all BP did wrong, and he did a lot, to not given him credit for not fucking up the 2000 draft while blaming him for every other failure is ridiculous. It's unfounded because of a really weird anti-Parcells GM bias.

He was awful. But he did well in that draft, as best he could given the cards he was dealt, or dealt himself.

You can thank Herm Edwards for the first Patriots Superbowl.

To build his cover who defense he cut four of our starters that the Patriots signed to help them win the big game.

except when he can get a great prospect like Peyton, then he is too honest.

Nobody has any idea what was asked by and what was promised or not promised to Archie and Peyton.

    All we have is speculation.

IMHO, Parcells was the ultimate card player and he'd tell a lie, an untruth or a partial truth or the full truth to fit his needs.

Nobody knows--he could be honorable when it suited him but he could also be a snake in the grass. The number of times he up and quit on franchises, hung his name out there for various teams (Atlanta, NO, Penn State), the way he would treat players differently--not the most honorable man in the game.

No one will ever convince me he didn't cost us Peyton.

Keyshawn for Abraham (Mangold) was a good deal for us. Throw in Becht and it was a win.

We didn't eaxactly give up Belichick since he refused to coach our team. Getting a first rounder for a coach that we had no use for doesn't sound like a bad deal either. If I remember correctly, this was the Chad Pennington pick.

Giving up our second rounder to move up to #12 for Shaun Ellis doesn't sound like a bad deal either.

Considering that we got Keyshawn's replacement in round three (after he had a couple years to develop) I think we did alright.

I would have liked to have the Santana Moss pick in 2001 back but you can't blame Parcells for that one.
