I've made numerous substantive arguments with you over years - going back to 2006-7 I believe and you admitted that earlier in the thread. But then you claimed I don't argue with you and "attack you." Fine. But then I read this post and it pissed me off because it is you who resort to personal attacks. The past two years or so whenever this ridiculous argument about Namath gets brought up (over and over again) and I defend Namath, you resorted to the exact same tactic against me - talking about Namath underoos and the like. As a 55 year old man and a father and professional, I find that incredibly insulting. You claim to want to have an intelligent argument, but you do not. Instead, you resort to this very argument - calling grown men underoos wearing fanboys. It is degrading and demeaning. I will not have this argument with you any more. I am sick of it. The bottom line, which you cannot change and will not accept, is that your opinion, no matter how highly you value it (you won't even call it an opinion - you call your opinions facts) carries less weight because you DID NOT SEE HIM PLAY. You are too young. Those that saw him play almost unanimously say he was great. You instead rely on some interview with Gerry Philbin (whose dislike of Namath goes deeper than you can imagine) and your football encyclopedia and Google. I would never argue with anyone over whether DiMaggio or Williams was better, or whether Rocket Richard was better than Bobby Hull, or whether Russell was better than Chamberlain, or whether Unitas was better than Graham because I never saw any of these players play (in their primes - I saw Russell and Chamberlain and Unitas at the end or their careers). I respect the opinions of those who saw them play and leave those discussions to them. You are just too arrogant and narcissistic to take this position and admit that you can't judge a player based on tape, stats, and articles. I'm done. For good.
