I gave up arguing anything with him. Most of the time his posts are senseless babbling with no basis in reality. Even when shown where his posts make no sense he will double down on them, not worth the time. Edit: He then links a vox.com article, a site with serious credibility issues and asks no one to post Washington Post or Fox News articles claiming they are ridiculous.
.Again this is not a deal for regime change. Which doesn't work and we're not so omni-powerful. It's about curtailing a nuclear program that went up dramatically in capability during the Bush Admin. Thanks to the Obama sanctions they were able to negotiate this deal. There are many safeguards and unprecedented ability for inspections. If they don't abide by the stipulations deals off. Again not just about the US. It's what the world wants, too. The hostages were 35 years ago. Repubs were against it before they even knew most of the parameters. Marco Rubio even had a TV commercial taped on it denouncing it before it was even officially announced. Saying he was going to make sure it won't be enacted.
btw the overwhelming majority of people in Iran don't want to kill Americans. They want Nike sneakers, Apple computers and Jeep Cherokees. http://www.theatlantic.com/internat...e-country-where-people-love-americans/258166/
that article is from 2012 and the survey its based on is from 2009. A lot has changed in recent years. Your summation of the article anyway is not true, misleading and borderline insulting... I'm sure there is plenty of average joe Persians still who don't hate Americans the problem is that those folks aren't making the decisions in that country and for every average joe who supports the US there's equal pockets of Persians who despise us. We need to keep a very close eye on Iran. I'm not saying wage war on them but we should be doing everything possible to keep our eyes on them.
The average Joe there like here is mostly concerned with the economy. That's why the Mullahs are agreeing to this. They don't want to lose control over the country. In Russia the reason Putin was so popular was because he brought the economy back. This is just one article so it doesn't prove anything. There aren't that many articles written about this subject and 3 years isn't that old. Not meant to be misleading.
Who said BO was anti-Israel, strawman? The gist of my post was that you're a disengenuous hypocrite to say that partisan politics only exists on one side of the political aisle especially given your partisan overgeneralizations and assumptions. Speaking of assumptions, your "both great Americans" comment has no impact on me (and this from a person who voted for BO in '08). Blind partisanship breeds naive suckers such as yourself who slavishly treat like-minded career politicians/crooks as celebrities - they get a pass because they're the good guys on "our side." Power & corruption, and you've fallen for it. As for those "billionaires," did you mean the Koch Brothers? Or were you thinking of these generous donors? Fred Eychaner $7,900,000.00 Newsweb CEO Chicago IL George Soros $3,560,000.00 Soros Fund Management Chairman New York NY J. Joe Ricketts $4,870,000.00 Self-employed Little Jackson WY James Simons $3,000,000.00 Euclidean Capital President New York NY Michael Bloomberg $20,008,628.23 Bloomberg LLP Executive New York NY Paul Singer $9,291,490.01 Elliot Management New York NY Richard Uihlein $4,235,000.00 Uline CEO Chicago IL Robert Mercer $8,070,000.00 Renaissance Technologies Co-CEO East Setauket NY Sheldon Adelson $5,000,000.00 Las Vegas Sands Chairman Las Vegas NV Thomas Steyer $73,725,000.00 Nancy Pelosi steered more than a billion dollars in subsidies to a light rail project that benefitted a company run by a high-dollar Democratic donor (the above listed Tom Steyer) and in which her husband is a major investor. Harry Reid? Aside from his shady land deals, here's Harry the person: using the Senate chamber floor not only to flat out lie about Romney not paying taxes but justifying it afterward by cynically crowing "he didn't win, did he?" How's that for character? Me, I have no use for Mitt Romney but that's besides the point. The point is you'd hitch your wagon to a lying scumbag. Sucker.
Ah yes, the economy... that's the problem! Iran's economy fuels the shiites of the region. Assad in Syria & Hezbollah Syria/Lebanon/Yemen notably. They just got stronger with this deal. The deal frees up billions for the Iranian economy but that money isn't going to help the average joes of the country that like America with schools, parks, "jeep cherokees".. that money for the most part is going to make its way to those groups because Iranian leadership makes it happen. This deal didn't provide any stipulations in that regard.... Hate America? tired of economic sanctions? Just shake their hand and promise (try to act genuine) not to build nukes so they can score some political points back home. Then use the influx of cash to build your anti American coalition!
Doesn't really matter, you were linking to vox, a site that had noble intentions for maybe the first month but became just another site with credibility issues yet you call Fox and Washington Times articles ridiculous.
Yep, he got the deserter by giving up 5 Taliban leaders but left a reporter, a missionary and a Marine.
You don't know me so how can you say that. You're making statements about Reid and Pelosi how's about some links. I didn't vote for Obama in 2008. Because I didn't like his previous associations with Bill Ayres. But voted for him in 2012 and think he's done a great job. Despite the obstructionism. I won't attack you for your POV. That's your deal not mine.
Vox is a good site. Nothing close to being as biased as the Washington Times (the far right paper founded by the Moonies) and Fox News which is a joke.
Are you listing Sheldon Adelson as a democrat donor? The guy is no democrat, the only reason the Nevada primary aka the Adelson primary exists is so he can pick which GOP member to give his money to. He is as pro Israel as they come. I used to know one of his personal security guards who would fly with him on his own personal 747 to Israel. The guy is pure scum on every level.
left morons behind you meant to say (which is fine by me). You knowingly go to a country....You follow the damn rules of said country. These morons are like those idiots who go into North Korea...LOL.
It's their own money they are getting back...but who needs facts. Let's just repeat what I heard on talk radio and on tv today!
I'm much more likely to be killed by a gun wielding nut than I am to be killed by Iran, even if they get nuclear weapons. I've known people who were killed by guns and I know nobody who was ever killed by a nuclear weapon. In fact the only people on earth who have ever been killed by nuclear weapons weren't killed by some rogue state on a mission or by terrorists bent on destroying us or by some dark evil superpower trying to dominate the world. They were killed by us. Us. So, no I have no problem with Iran getting nuclear weapons. It's more likely that they'll be yoked into the current world order once warfare is off the table for them. It's worked for almost everybody else.
