Junc, Parcells doesn't give up power esp to a guy like Groh (who had no front office experience). What he says and what he does are a completely different story. You can't just go by quotes. The reporters give their interpretation and quote the guys but as we have seen many times with sports franchises we never really get the complete inside picture. Even recently we got different stories on different issues: like the Revis trade-was it something that Woody forced down Idzik's throat or Idzik's idea...the Tim Tebow signing-Woody or Tannenbaum. And when they had him why didn't they give him a true role on the offense. And let him play when Mark imploded. Did Idzik tell Rex to put Mark in that exhibition game (the one he got injured in) or was that Rex's decision. Whose idea was it to start Geno? Was Idzik micromanaging the head coach? A lot of unanswered questions.
sorry, BP said it, Groh said it, Key aid it when trying to get a new deal. was BP involved? of course but there's too much info out there disputing that he was running everything and again I will not give him credit as he sat silent while Groh took al the bullets so he doesn't get credit just b/c a move may have worked out.

Worst is easy Santonio Holmes. A severely overpaid JAG who IMO turned out to be the biggest f'n cancer in franchise history. Honorable mention Mark Brunell. Totally done when the Jets signed him and he didn't earn a d@mn thing during his time here pissed me off so much. Oh and Ed Reed too. LOL The best signing has to be Curtis Martin great player, near first ballot HOFer. Mawae was great too. Vinny gave us '98.
Reed at least contributed some on the field. Holmes was a trade also, and even though he dogged it at times and was a cancer, at least he contributed on the field. He should have never gotten the big contract from Tanny. Brunell did squat, but I think some of the others were worse. Wasn't CuMar a trade? Or did the NFL just make us give the Pats more in compensation than any other team has ever had to pay? I think we had to give up 3 or 4 draft picks. Personally, I'd rather have drafted Manning in '97 and then drafted a RB. CuMar was a very good, consistent player, but I don't think he was good enough to build an offense around. He didn't keep DCs up late at night trying to figure out how to stop him.
