Ask a Doctor, I don't know. Questioning someone else's health symptoms, issues, concerns, or pain tolerances is foolish when you're not a Doctor.

    Wait a minute.

Someone is now calling in to question that Namath might be suffering side effects from repeated concussions as an NFL player?

Can the Namath bashing get any more pathetic?

Not if you have an anti-Namath bias it isn't.

    It's par for the course.

Can you imagine if Namath, unfortunately, develops Alzheimer's--it's going to be a field day around here.

    what are you talking about?

It's just so great when people have nothing to come back at your arguments with that they just bash you for some reason.

The arguments have all been made, loud and clear, but you don't hear them - that's pathetic.

A committee of sportswriters who watched Namath and his contemporaries perform weekly easily decided he belonged in the Hall of Fame; you've seen a few clips and drool over your statistics and don't - that's more pathetic.

And now you're flying in the face of tons of medical evidence that prolonged playing of football can have a deleterious affect on one's cognitive abilities - that's even more pathetic.

    You need some time off.

I have said he belongs in the Hall of Fame too but you don't read my posts, you have your agenda and despite reality smacking you in the face you choose to look the other way.

did I say he didn't suffer concussions? is there anything rational people can say about Joe that the underoos wearing fanboys won't get upset over?

I simply asked why 40 years later he is now seeing effects. is that in improper question? next time give me a set of rules of what I can and cannot say about Joe.

    Wait for it:

"I've admitted he belongs in the HOF but he really had a very mediocre career, way overrated, just really not that good. But sure, he belongs in the Hall of Fame. Even though he wasn't that good and was severely overrated. Actually, he was pretty bad. But still deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. Read what I write--not what I say."

wait for what? I have been very clear. one of the most important figures in the history of pro football, belongs in based on what he meant to the game. if it was based purely on his play on the field he'd need a ticket to get in like the rest of us.

I have no problems with Joe Namath at all. The man never done anything to me. No I don't think he should be in HOF but doesn't mean I dislike him. He didn't vote himself in the HOF,so my disagreement is with the voters. In fact I loved his style off the field. So try again about not liking him.

    My summary on this topic:

-Does JWN belong in the HOF: yes
but he isn't one of the top members and if the HOF was cut in half tomorrow he probably wouldn't be in it
-Do you have to have been around and seen him play (live) to have an intelligent opinion: no
Some of the smartest people are 25 year olds who have a great sense of history, a knowledge of the sport and know a lot more about it than idiots like me who were around at that time. Some have even written books on it
-If you think JWN doesn't deserve to be in the HOF does this make you a non Jets fan and a troll-no
It's a legit opinion on a guy who didn't play great for a long period of time, had a losing record as a starter and a bad TD to pick ratio
-But what about the name-callers who make these accusations?
    they are morons.

You don't have a point, "moron"

so don't claim the moral high ground.
