Hopefully the organization will as well, its clearly obvious the excuses for 3rd string QBs are endless
I'm not so sure. Its football not that complicated. You drop back make a throw. The other option is handing it off. Having a different OC won't help with his accuracy nor his fear of throwing over the middle. Teams know that and that is why Geno makes the majority of his throws out to the flats. I guess less chance of a pick 6.
Maybe, but throws out to the flat is where most pick 6's occur. Why do you say Geno has a 'fear' of throwing over the middle? Just curious
Average should be in the CFL. The Jets have been settling for average for decades. If he is average he needs to be on the sidelines.
That's a lot of hope. We heard every year how Mark Sanchez took his receivers out west to train and get in sync. That crap never panned out.
Hilarious. I hope this is the year Geno finds another team. I would be good with a training camp cut.
That Buffalo game did it for me also. Told me Geno is a numbskull and will never amount to even a servicable QB. We need to move on from him before he does more damage. Like you said we can't wait 12 games for him to warm up. Just like his rookie year he looked good on game 16 again in Miami.
Why? when we have fans who would gladly do just that. I'm not one of them. We may have to deal with it but bend over? Sorry not my style.
Yeah, hopefully that was the two past regimes that liked to do that to people.... I don't see TB&Mac as that type.
That's the problem. He's not even close to average. Closer to being shit than he is closer to being average. Please flush that turd. Just knowing your season is over 2 weeks in with a top defence makes for a long long off season and more threads how a bottom dweller QB is some how getting better because he is playing catch in a parking lot with his new receiver. Unless he grows a brain all of a sudden which is not likely. He will surely fail and then we can have some optimism on Fitz to be closer to average.
No wonder you are so bad at thinking through logic. The LAST coaching staff with the Jets were running the team, too. Then they got fired. Does that mean they were right about running the team? Lot of good it did them to know more about their players than the posters here. The problem is that knowing players as you put it does not mean that the person in question will make the right decision. And more to the point about a message board like this is if all we did was defer to the geniuses running the NFL and the teams in it, why share any opinions at all here? Something tells me the logic of this discussion will continue to be lost on you.
He was terrible in that Buffalo game. I mean just putrid. He was a piece of shit make no mistake about it. A couple things though: 1) Buffalo's defense made a lot of QBs look terrible last year: Manning, Rodgers, Vick, Hoyer, Stafford all played terrible and/or got steamrolled by that defense last year. 2) Rex pulled him too late. It was obvious after the first couple drives he was completely lost out there. The team was 1-6 and they were trying to force it to Harvin. Rex showed his lack of offensive cognition by keeping Smith letting it rip after it was obvious he was a giant turd that day. He never should've been on the field for that 3rd INT
This ... They predetermined throws for Smith. Don't know how at that point you still play the guy when you don't have enough confidence in him to make any reads and go through his progressions. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...s-coaches-predetermined-throws-for-geno-smith
I hear ya. Speaking to the choir. Every year we hear the Geno accolades and every year the season is over. If he stinks it up after 2 game then Bowles will see some banners flying over MetLife.
Do you remember any passes by Geno over the middle to anyone. They are all towards the sidelines or down the field
