That's a better idea than RF but for a team built on pitching they are going to want the best defense behind them as they possibly can. And I still think they are high on Herrera.

And they have a bunch of SSs in the minors who could move over.

I agree. Remember Todd Hundley?

We've got this Battery, this unit now. Leave it.

Right field was just a theory because he has a better arm than Curtis. He might be better suited for the infield. Actually it's all just theory. Didn't he play a little 2nd base for the Mets? Not sure but I have a memory of him and 2nd base. Maybe Gary and Keith just brought it up during a game.

Actually Travis is 6-2 and 195. (similar to Bobby Abreu) so he could play the outfield. And he has a good arm.

    Google is not your friend.

5 years ago he was 195 pounds.

He's 210 pounds now. I've met him. He's NOT a svelte 195 pounds. He's a muscular squat guy with massive legs.

Do you really think you can plug in physical measurements and figure out his position?

Have you ever actually SEEN him play?

I'm not advocating he play RF. It's just a theory. And how can you say the guy can't play the outfield. Chances are with his athletic ability and arm he'd be ok. I googled it and it said 195. Doesn't matter. Most of the outfielders on the Mets roster are over 6' 200 lbs.

Maybe you need to update your browser to 2015.

Every link to d'Arnaud now has him at 210-211.

    http://espn.go.com/mlb/player/_/id/29951/travis-darnaud

    http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/d/darnatr01.shtml

Plus I've met him and he looks bigger than that.

I don't know that he can't play RF, but there aren't a lot of squat thick catchers that have transitioned to the OF. He's not a swift rangy type athlete, he's a squat thick athlete.

    Just a theory.

    Matt Harvey today.

Would love to see a bounce back dominant performance.

This is where I got it from. https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=travis d'arnaud height weight It's not a big deal even though you're trying to make it into one. Lagares is 6-1 and 215 and he won a Gold Glove. So it's not preposterous despite your seeing the guy in person plus your astute observations on body type, etc. to say the guy might be able to play outfield in the majors. But I'll let it go there. Because I know what's coming next. Name calling, etc. Everyone in the world is a troll if they disagree with you.

Your link is showing him in a Toronto Blue Jay hat when he was essentially a kid

    He's 6'2", 210....who cares?

He's not going anywhere but behind the plate

Dude that's a picture of him when he was on the Blue Jays.

Do you not understand how 2 people can have the same measurements but 2 completely different body styles?

Have you ever seen d'Arnaud? Lagares?

    Do they look the same?

You do this to yourself it seems in every thread.

    Like you're trying.

You're right I went to get a quick stat figuring it was correct and didn't notice the hat. I didn't think you had to verify a weight using ten sources. He will definitely play positions other than catcher even if he is the Mets starting catcher next season. I think they'll get more games with him if he catches under 100 games. And maybe under that like around 80. The key thing to me is Plawecki's development. And Travis's health.
