He's willing to go down on her...

though...If he said rise, does that indicate pre-op?

And in the county, I could get...but in the COUNTRY?

    beat me to it.

    yep.

though with coins I've always striven to use the blind identifiers when fumbling in my pocket....though it looks perverse.

Penny/ Dime, close to same size, cut edge = dime. Smooth = Penny.

    Nickel smooth edge,
    Quarter/cut.

    Dollar/smooth (inscribed, but not cut)

It's bigotry that is the downfall of this nation. If the religious right kept their nose out of gay and trans people's lives, nobody would have cared that Bruce became Caitlyn. She would have been Caitlyn many years ago.

It's considered weird because religious beliefs make it seem weird. If it doesn't follow what was written in a fictional book, it must be bad. I too was indoctrinated into the catholic religion and shared many of the bigoted opinions of the religious right. I was a registered republican and listened to Rush Limbaugh with my father. I was taught that the democrats were the enemy. Why did I believe what I believed? I was told to believe it. As I matured as a person and started thinking for myself, I realized that gay people were just people who were attracted to the same sex. Trans people are just people who feel like they are not expressing their true gender identity. They are not trying to make a scene or make a statement. Some live their lives with their birth genitals, some get sexual reassignment surgery. It doesn't change my opinion of them for the better or worse.

Empathy is what changed my views. How would I feel if I was attracted to the same sex? How would it feel to hide it? How would it feel if I was unable to get married to the love of my life? How would it feel if I looked in the mirror and was disgusted because I felt like a woman inside? I don't know how it feels, but I imagine that it would be very difficult.

I disagree. Religion as a whole it seems is being under attack like never before in America. I know some non religious people who disagree with gay marriage because they simply find it wrong. It had nothing to do with what was written in a book. Same for Jenner. But I hear you though.

I have yet to run into a single non-religious person who was opposed to gay marriage. I don't even know that many religious people who oppose gay marriage.

As far as religion being under attack, it's more like a counter-attack. Religion has been attacking for a long as religion has existed.

You don't but I do. You don't need a bible to see that what Jenner did is strange.

Strange is one way of putting it. It's different, but it's her choice to outwardly match the gender that she feels inside. The way you dress and present yourself is a choice, but how you feel inside isn't a choice.

On the other hand, putting people's mugs on money wasn't the normal practice for the first half of the country's history when there were Native Americans, buffaloes, Lady Liberty, eagles, i.e., symbols of America that weren't anybody specific.

Maybe go back to that and bag the hero worship?

I think it's a funny issue because I have to wonder how he knows he feels like a woman if he's never been a woman. Maybe he feels like the portrayal of women he has seen in society, which we have been told is a fictional creation.

I know you're being facetious but you don't know what it's like to feel like a cow

+1, being a woman would suck ass.

i don't have a problem with trannys at all but I have a problem with Jenner. Seems too "made for tv" for my tastes. very cliche.. the trashy/cliche name "caitlyn", the TV show, the ridiculously photoshopped mag cover. All of it isn't genuine at all.

honestly I think he/she's hurting the tranny cause. Its kinda like a side show clown act. To me its like when Jerry Springer brought on trannys on his show and all that ridiculousness- - that certainly didn't help the cause of everyday acceptance of transsexuals. It made them look like the lunatic fringe. Thats kinda what this whole thing feels like

The correct term is transgender woman. "Tranny" is a slur.

The whole "made for tv" aspect is unfortunately necessary because some transgender teens commit suicide because of their parent's non-acceptance. It's necessary when in 2015, people are still calling trans women a "tranny."

As far as Caitlyn not knowing what it's like to be a genetic woman, that is true. She will never know what that feels like. I can only go by what I know and that I fully embrace me being a male. I have never felt uncomfortable in my own skin or by the way I act. Caitlyn doesn't feel the same way. She feels that her outward appearance didn't fit with the way she feels inside. Throughout the years and behind closed doors, she experimented with living as a woman. It felt right to her and finally told everybody she knew so that she didn't have to hide the way she felt.

Could you imagine what it must have felt like to hide who you are for all those years? Shit, it was hard enough telling people that I didn't believe in god. I could imagine how hard it would be to tell people that I wanted to live as a woman.

    Empathy is a wonderful thing.

learn something new everyday. I didn't realize simply shortening a word made it a slur. I'll let other people watch the trashy TV show and tell me what is acceptable and I will adapt
