But that's not because it was such a horrible trade, rather how terribly our FO/Coaching staff botched this situation. If you're gonna bring a guy like that in you better have an idea how to utilize him, otherwise don't bother. That was on our coaching staff.

IMHO there is NO way to use him. He was brought in as a stunt, a publicity move.

I hated everything about that trade.

Santonio Holmes. Only this organization would spend stupid money on a specialty WR for a team that doesn't have a QB and doesn't throw the ball that handcuffs the team from getting good all around WR's for years.

I think he could have done a little damage from the wildcat. But the idea to kick your starting QB off the field each quarter to let Tebow run the ball is just stupid. The coaching staff made this entire thing way worse than it should have been. Either use him properly or don't use him at all and get rid of him. Sometimes things don't work out. Should have happened after camp/preseason. But to let him stick around and continue this inbetween thing was just ridiculous and that's where I blame the coaching staff, and Tanny for bringing the guy in. It really was a publicity stunt they completely botched.

How about free agents lost- John Riggins, Verlon Biggs, Burgess Owens, James Farrior, Jeff Blake, Brad Smith, Nick Ferguson...

That was tough watching Riggins kick ass in D.C.

Santonio Holmes technically was a FA, so he was the worst signing ever for the Jets. Kevin Mawae was the best.

Yeah, I can't agree on this one.

Was he a dick? Probably. But he was a big part of that 2010 run. Made some of the biggest catches in some of the biggest games in our franchises history.

That catch at the back corner of the endzone against the Pats was outstanding.

Unless you are talking about his re-signing in 2011, but I don't think that was the question.

Technically, he was an unrestricted FA in 2011 as the Redskins were going to offer him a contract.

I wish the Redskins offered him more cash. I was fine w/ a 1 yr rental to try and get a SB.

I see it the same way. He had a huge part in that run in '10.

One guy I absolutely hated losing was Lav Coles after that 2002 season. Was one of my favorite Jets and a great receiver for Chad.
