Keeping up with our summer time threads, let's complete a couple of sentences.... The BEST free agent signing in the history of the New York Jets was _____________ . The WORST free agent signing in the history of the New York Jets was _____________ .
Curtis would have to be best but was he was a RFA and we gave up 1st and 3rd rd picks so it was more like a trade.
I would agree, w/ all we paid and what we actually got. he wasn't a bad QB but just not a fit for us.
For Me: Best - Bryan Cox - Added huge toughness to that 1998 Defense that won our first Divisional title. Worst - Ty Law.
Cox is a great choice but when we think of FA we usually think the bigger ticket guys. Cox was a guy no one else wanted and we signed late. a GREAT signing though but low risk, high reward type of guy.
Lott was back in the Plan B days, he was at the end of his career but it was still fun watching him. Monk and Atwater were both done when we got them, Taylor was a big disappointment.
I wasn't talking strategic wise--just about how it made me detest what my franchise did. Some trades work out, some don't. It happens. This was on a different level for me. _
