clearly UNC cheated, they changed grades, steered players to fraud courses and played w/ ineligible players. roy should be fired, all the banners torn down. actually they should implode the Smith Center.

Forgive me for attempting to have an open, honest, discussion with you. Keep in mind that I actually have stated no opinion on this matter.

no one wants to have an open, honest discussion. they want to bait me in and get me banned for good. I'm not going to play this game, I have showed more than enough evidence on this topic and there is not one shred that shows UNC Men's basketball should be punished.

Roy Williams assured a recruit that the basketball program is safe from sanctions

Surely, you do not want me to use that as evidence? Basically you are saying that because Roy Williams says it is so, then it is so?

Had Roy been telling recruits this the past few years? the NOI came out, he wasn't named unlike the cheater at SU, his program wasn't specifically mentioned in the 5 violations.

    Were any programs specifically named?

I believe women's basketball. I think the women's team did what SU was doing as far as helping player remain eligible.

more PR spin for the terminally gullible.

UNC redacted enough of the NOA to make it appear that basketball and Roy are safe, which is being trumpeted by every UNC friendly media outlet.

This allows Roy and UNC one more opportunity to say to recruits and their parents, "See? I'm am not named and basketball is OK. Sure, other sports have a little mess, but we are fine."

Once UNC is hammered, they hope to hold on to those kids they lure in through more of their deceit.

This is also Roy's "Golden Parachute" for when the end comes and he suddenly decides to retire or has "health issues".

But surely there had ot be more. The women's basketball team does not compromise 47% of all athletes?

the women's basketball players were steered there and they used it to keep players eligible, the men's team did no such thing. in the Wainstein report it mentioned how men's players handed in their assignments and treated them like they would "real" classes which players in other sports did not do. Men's players took these classes but did so the way any student would looking for an easier class. these classes were offered to everyone and more students than athletes took the classes.

The men's basketball program being clean is as likely as a turd staying dry in a toilet bowl. If you are surrounded by water what's the odds you aren't wet?

A little fun with numbers, 47.4% of the students that took the classes were student athletes, student athletes account for approximately 3% of the student body.

For the ease of this I am just going to say the number of total students and student athletes stayed the same each year over the last 18 years, basically the number of students that could have taken the classes over 18 years, 9% of all athletes took the class and .3% of all students took the class.

Clearly a very disproportionate number of student athletes took the class compared the rest of the student body. Your statement was not incorrect, not at all representative of the situation, but not incorrect.

Fantasy stats. Try watching the class instead of relying on stats.
